ADALINE'S POV
Today the lads, along with keyboardist Billy Preston, were putting on a performance on the roof of the Apple Corps headquarters here in the middle of London. They haven't performed live in about two year, so they decided to put this together.
I will say I was surprised when all of us wives were asked to come. At first Pattie and I thought it was a joke and laughed when Paul and George told us. I mean, who would have thought they'd want to perform on the roof.
Currently Pattie, Mo and I had gone to get a cuppa while they set up the roof. Yoko was already on the roof with the lads, no surprise there.
"This has to be one of the craziest things the lads have ever done." Pattie said, taking a sip of her tea.
"I completely agree. Are they actually doing this?"
Soon we made it up onto the roof to see all their instruments and equipment set up.
"I guess they really are.."
"Addie, love!" Paul yelled as he came running over. "Hello, ladies. Hello, darling." He kissed me lightly.
"Hi, honey." I smiled and looked around. "There's so much going on up here."
"Yeah, we're almost fully set up and ready to go. What do you think?"
"I think it's going to be very unexpected for everyone around here. They haven't heard you all perform live in years." I walked over toward the edge and looked down on the city.
"It's something different, I'm tell ya."
Turning back to him, I looked at the other lads and them back at him. "Are you sure you're warm enough? Look at the rest of the lads. They have heavier coats on. I don't need you getting sick."
"Darling, I'm okay." He chuckled lightly, kissing me one more time. "We're going to get started soon. I hope you and the girls enjoy it."
"I know we will." I smiled as he went back over with the lads. Going back over I stood with Pattie and Mo.
"This is honestly one of the strangest things they've done in a long time."
"Well, they're making history. People have probably been waiting for the Beatles to perform together again. This is just not the way that most people expected.."
And that's when we heard the first chords of 'Get Back'. The four of them were in complete sync, just like old times. I couldn't help but smile.
"They look so happy, don't they?" Mo turned to me.
"They do. Especially after all of the issues that happened during the last album."
"They're already attracting attention.." Pattie said to us. The three of us looked down at the street. People were on the sidewalks looking up at the building, some cars were stopped on the street and people even began to watch from other rooftops nearby.
"Looks like everyone missed the Beatles.."
"Oh, yeah.."
They continued on with their set. They played 'Don't Let me Down', 'I've Got a Feeling' and were now playing 'One After 909'. We continued watching the boys until soon we saw police come up on the roof.
"Oh no, look what we have over there." Mo pointed out.
"Let's go talk to them. I know the lads won't want to stop now." I said as the three of us went over to them.
