PAUL'S POV
I woke up to an empty bed. Where could Adaline be? It's not even that late in the morning. I made my way downstairs and didn't see she, Mady or Martha anywhere.
"Addie, love?"
"Addie?"
I heard Martha barking as I made my way outside to find the three of them.
"There's my girls."
"Good morning. Happy Birthday." Addie said as she walked over and kissed me.
"Thank you, love. What's all this?" I asked, making my way over to the table we had outside.
"We thought we'd make you a birthday breakfast."
"It looks delicious." I sat down and looked over at Madelynn. "Good morning baby girl."
She smiled at me and then turned to Adaline. "Mama!"
"I know baby girl, you must be hungry." Addie set the plate in front of Mady as she started eating.
"I wished she'd call me Dad.."
"Listen, she called me Dada for a while before she finally started saying Mama. And we're still in the adjustment stage, it'll happen soon." She held my hand tightly. "Now it's your birthday, what would you like to do today?"
"It doesn't matter to me, just as long as I'm with my girls." I turned to Mady who was trying to feed her breakfast to Martha. "Why don't we take you to the park to play?"
"Play! Play!"
"It's settled then, we'll head to the park after breakfast."
Soon we all finished up breakfast and went to the park.
"What do you want to do first, baby girl?"
"Play!" Mady took ahold of my hand and ran to the slide. Adaline stood there laughing as she watched us.
"Have fun you two!"
Mady and I went down the slide over a dozen times before she ran over to the swing.
"Mady, love, Daddy's getting a bit tired."
She turned to me, giving me the puppy dog eyes as she grabbed onto the swing.
"Okay, Daddy can push you on the swing for a bit." I smiled and helped her into the swing and began to push her. I looked down and watched her. She looked so much like Adaline. The way she giggled, that look in her eyes; it's all her mother. Then I looked over and saw Addie sitting on the blanket under the tree with Martha. I couldn't believe how incredibly happy I finally was.
After pushing Mady in the swing the two of us went over and sat with Addie and Martha.
Addie smiled and pulled Mady into her lap. "Well it looks like you two had fun. Did you have fun with Daddy?"
"Fun Daddy!"
"She said it.."
Adaline looked up at me and nodded. "She did.."
I just kept staring at Mady until she crawled over and laid by Martha.
"I told you she would soon.." Addie said as she laid her head on my shoulder.
"And you were right, love.." I smiled and looked down at her. "So you're happy with me? I mean you're happy that you came back?"
She turned to me and took my hand. "Of course I am.. Paul, I've always loved you.. Even when things were rough I still did. Yes, we may not have done things in the right order and some people may say were rushing things, but I don't care. Paul McCartney, I love you.."
I pulled her to me and kissed her. I knew it was time. I had to do it. Soon I stood up and kneeled down in front of her.
"Paul..what are you doing..?"
"Something I should have a long time ago. I know we've had an interesting past. I made some horrible decisions that I wish I could go back and change, but now I have you back. You're the most beautiful and supportive woman I could ask for and mother to my child. I may have lost you once, but I'm not going to lose you again." I went into my pocket and pulled out thing ring. "Adaline Elise Mitchell, will you marry me?"
She just stared at me for a second. Was it too soon? I began to panic a bit, but soon a large grin came across her face.
"Yes! Yes I will!"
I slipped the ring on her finger as we both stood up and I spun her around.
"I love you so much."
"I love you too.."
Addie and I kept looking into each other's eyes until we felt someone poking at our legs.
"Mama, Daddy, uppy!"
I bent down and picked up Mady as we both kissed her.
"We can finally be a proper little family."
"We can. Now why don't we get home and I'll cook us dinner to celebrate."
"I already have Rose on that."
Addie just smiled at me as we all packed up our things and went home. After having dinner and celebrating, we put Mady to bed for some celebrating of our own.
"So Mr. McCartney, when shall we get married?" Addie asked as she walked out of our bathroom.
"Whenever you'd like, love. I'll let Eppy know so I can have some time off."
"Maybe the beginning of August? I kind of want to have the wedding soon. We're finally together and now I can't wait to be your wife."
I pulled her to me as we fell back on the bed. "If the beginning of August is what you want, that's what we'll do." I kissed her deeply. "I just want you to be happy."
"I am happy with you.." She said as she kissed me more. And I think you know what happened from there..
