ADALINE'S POV

"It seems that you're pregnant, Mrs. McCartney."

I stared at the doctor. Pregnant?

"You're about six weeks at the moment, so you're due in July."

"Oh my. Well thank you so much, Doctor."

"I want you back in about a month to check to check on your little one." He smiled. "Speaking of, how's your little girl?"

"She's doing great. She just turned two."

"My she's getting big. I bet she'll be excited to be a big sister. Well, I have to get on to my next patient, I'll see you in a month."

"See you then. Thank you." I then left the office and drove down the street to this little cafe I was meeting Meredith at for lunch.

"There you are! I was afraid I had my times wrong." She said as she stood up to hug me.

"I'm so sorry I ran late at my doctor's appointment! It's so good to see you."

The two of us sat down and began to flip through the menu.

"So how'd your appointment go? What did you have to go in for anyway?"

I looked around, making sure there weren't people around us. "I'm pregnant.."

"Oh my gosh, are you? Congrats Addie!"

"I can't believe I'm pregnant again.. I didn't expect to get this news today! This was just an annual appointment!" I exclaimed. Soon our waitress came over to take our order, I sat back in my chair, trying to calm my nerves.

"I don't understand why you're freaking out." Meredith said. "This is wonderful news."

"Well, let's remember back to what happened the last time Paul and I had a baby.." I started to cry. "I ended up with Isaac taking care of me. In two days it marks a year since he passed. A year! I feel guilty because I'll always love him, but now I'm married to Paul and having his baby again. Am I rushing my life again? I don't know what to do!"

"Adaline, listen to me. You two are married. He's devoted to you and to Madelynn." She smiled. "You two have worked past the mistakes you both made and have started your life together. I think you're just nervous now because you didn't think this would happen this soon." She then took my hand and looked at me. "I know it's been almost a year.. You have no reason to feel guilty for still loving him. You two had a history and he was there for you in your darkest hour. He was a wonderful man and he'll always be part of you. No, you're not rushing your life. Things happen for a reason, Addie, and I know Isaac is happy seeing you happy."

"You're right.. I mean we only got married a few months ago. Is he ready for a new baby? We never even talked about having more kids. And I guess now that you say it like that, I do feel a bit better. I mean Paul knows that I'll always love him and we did have a history. I guess things do happen for a reason."

"Mike's told me how Paul wants a big family and he wants to have it with you. You have nothing to worry about.." She then smiled and began to laugh. "You're already having mood swings, this reminds me of when you were having Mady. You were really moody.."

"I honestly don't know what I'd do without you." I said with a smile as I hit her lightly. "Yes I know, I know. But now Paul has to deal with my mood swings and you don't, so congrats."

"You'd be lost, but I would be too." She laughed. "I did my part, now it's his turn. But I loved being there for you through that."

Once we finished I went over to Charlie and Lily's to pick up Madelynn.
