"i'm glad you made it!"

"yeah, i thought she wouldn't come to class."

"gee guys thanks. i'm not that much of a slacker." i rolled my eyes at both wendy and seulgi, teasing me for showing up at our p.e. class.

p.e. wasn't really my thing, being bad at sports was an understatement because i sucked at it. big time.

but today i decided to show up for class. welp. i need to pass my classes. it's senior year after all.

"joohyun, you're playing volleyball today. do you wanna play basketball for me?" one of my classmates, jihyo, came up to me and asked to switch places with her. but i don't play either of the two.

"you said chess? yeah i could do that."

"silly." she patted my shoulder and told me the reason afterwards. for grades. "i'm fine with it." i said. i wouldn't win either way, anyway. so might as well give her the opportunity.

luckily seulgi was in my team for basketball, while wendy was at the other side of the gym, playing badminton. it was all good not until the match started, and i had no other choice but to play.

we were winning actually. all thanks to seulgi though. but hey, i was still running around the court! that's plenty for a person who doesn't even know the rules. i just run to wherever direction they're going. hah. i'm proud.

"joohyun!! either shoot the ball to the ring or pass it to me! don't carry it like a baby you idiot!" seulgi nagged in the middle of the game.

the ball finally got passed to me, but i had no clue what to do with it. unfortunately, while i was at a daze, somebody pulled a foul. the girl from the other class pushed me to the ground, and 'accidentally' stepped on my leg. it was brutal, but that's how survival works.

"joohyun! bae joohyun oh my god!" jeongyeon screamed. i winced in pain, but i didn't cry for help. i just endured it and watched seulgi's worried expression from afar, turn into confusion.

after that, all i remember was the girls screaming non-stop. but i don't know why

next thing i knew i was floating in mid-air. suddenly in between the arms of a man that i've never seen in my life.

"jesus christ you're heavy."

and this was our first meeting.

"excuse me and who are you?!"

i yelled and demanded to be brought down. instead, he just gave me a sly smile, followed by his response that annoyed me the whole day.

"you wanna know who i am? why? do want to be my girlfriend?"
