For years she stayed with him, swimming gracefull in his underground lake. Not making herself known because of her figure. A mermaid could never be seen by a mortal otherwise, They would turn to see foam. Thats what her father, King Triton, always told her anyway. When she left her father she stirred away from humans as a precautions but when she stumbled through a hole and ended up hearing the song of a musical genius, she couldnt help but be intrigued.

She had stayed through all that happened with Christine when she left him when the opera house burned down. When he left and came back depressed, she would leave and find fish for him to cook. He never wondered where they had come from but he ate them!

"Night time sharpens, hightens each sensation. Darkness stirs. And wakes imagination"

Marissa heared the beautiful voice sore through the air and with each and every silent flip of her tail, she got closer and closer to him. However she was so enchanted with his voice that she didnt realise she had crawled onto land. A yellow glow caught Marissas attention as she turned to see her tail had been replaced with human legs. She quickly started to panick and headed back to the lake. She was only in her shell bra and now some small pant shorts.

"Who are you and what are you doing in my lair!" Erik lifted the Mermaid off the floor. Her feet dangling in the air as she suffered desperatly to find air.

"Please i mean you no harm" Erik dropped her and looked down at her body.

"Where are your clothes?" He asked, still stern but more softer than before.

"Im sorry i never meant to intrude...i was a lost...human in need of a place to stay for the night. I will leave i didnt know someone lived here" Marissa struggled as she had never spoken to a human before. She didnt even know she could speak the language...and so fluently.

Erik held his ground and turned his back to the mermaid who quickly took off silently into the water in a panick.

"You may sta-" she hid round a corner as she watched Erik look around for her. She turned and looked at her tail, glad that she didnt turn to foam. That was too close. Erik walked away and Marissa came from around the corner. She admired him and his kindness...after all he had been through one would think it would of turned him into a monster.

Weeks had passed and Marissa still stayed with Erik but away from his sight. She was swimming in the deeper parts of the lake where she was away from worry of been seen by Erik, when she heard a cough.

"Hello wonderer." She stopped dead in her tracks. She hid her tail beneath her in the water to be sure he couldnt see her.

"Sir...im sorry i should of left but i needed to baithe. I didnt know this belonged to you as well" Erik looked at her confused.

"You could speak perfect last time i met you and now i cant understand a thing you say?" Marrissa looked at Erik with just as much confusion on her face as erik had plastered on his. Was it because she didnt have legs?

She quickly ducked her head under the water and swam under his boat, she swam as deep as the lake would let her. Her tail was never seen by Erik but it was the next move that made him notice her to her full extent. Erik had believed she had tried to kill herself by drowning so he dived in to the lake to save her. He didnt know why but he did. He felt drawn to her.
