Chapter Five
Jena was dropping of Raven at school, before heading to work. Raven looked out her window before unbuckling her seatbelt.
"Have fun at school," Jena said with a smile.
"Mom, I'm alresdy sixteen," Raven replied as she rolled her eyes and made an amusing smirked. "Bye mom," she added. She kissed Jena's cheek and got out.
"Call me if you want me to pick you up, okay?" Jena said as she peered through the half-opened window at the passenger's side.
"Josh's driving me home."
"Alright, take care."
"Bye mom," she said with a twitchy smile and waved. Jena waved back and drove away.
"So? How's my favorite girlfriend doing?" Miley asked from behind her, in her cute high pitch Californian accent.
"Miley!" Raven said turning around and hugged her best friend. Oh, how she miss school, especially her. She just hopes that her schedules would keep her occupied, with all the crazy Rebecca fever these past days.
Raven and Miley had been best friends since they were still three and they had been attending the same classes ever since.
Miley was a wavy blond, with a small face and high cheeks with freckles. She had those wide green eyes. She was thinner and shorter than Raven.
"So, how's summer?" Miley asked, clinging to Raven's arm as they walked towards the building.
"Exhausting. Believe me," Raven replied.
"Like, it's a good thing for you, although you looked stressed an all, but, yours will do. I should have, like, followed your advice when you said not to go on that vacation. It was so stupid! The only thing good about it, was how good my caramel highlights came out. I had to see Patricia and Jake lip-locking! Like, gross! I've seen others doing stuff like that. But, theirs was totally off board, you know what I'm saying? Patricia has those sticky gooey lips of hers..."
Miley kept talking about how her summer had been until they got to their lockers. Raven let out a sigh, how she wished she could tell her what had happened.
"Raven? Raven," Miley said in a firm tone.
Raven looked at her and blinked. "What?"
Miley sighed. "I said, we're still in the same class together. Isn't that great?" she repeated and squealed the second time.
Raven opened her mouth to ask a question but closed it back when Miley started a new topic, about a pimple-faced nerd trying to ask her out as she let Miley lead her to their homeroom. As much as she tried to pay attention, she just couldn't.
They went inside the classroom and seated themselves in the middle row.
Miley was talking about another guy, and Raven couldn't remember Miley starting a new topic, when she cut her off.
"Who's our homeroom?" Raven asked.
Miley sneered. "Ms. Ferradini. Like hello? Could they hire teachers that don't seem to be a rotten egg and an old hag every time they step in the class? Jeez!" she exclaimed rolling her eyes. "It's stressing everyone out. Like that hair of hers, it looks like shit. No offense, but her hair color was so last season; purple is out and caramel is in honey. She's giving Katy Perry a bad name..."
