Chapter Eighteen

Drake decided that Raven needed to get outside; see some sunlight, feel the breeze and open her ears to the world. Raven on the other hand didn't like the idea one bit.

"Drake, you know I hate going outside! I might get killed!" Raven exclaimed.

"I know somebody's trying to kill you, but they have to go through me first," Drake retorted.

"Right, and remember the last time you were here," she said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest with a smirk.

"My apologies, but Raven, you need to go out ones in a while. You're worse than a vampire," he pointed out.

"I am not!" she snorted and it made Drake chuckle.

"Okay, so you're more of an indoor person but Raven, you're going to get paranoid of everything if you kept staying in this four cornered box."

"Actually, it's has more than four corners. As you can see, the bathroom itself has four corners and the -"

"Alright, I get your point," he said cutting her off. He was beginning to get irritated with Raven's childish behaviors.

"You need to live life or live in fear, your choice. But my choice is going out, I myself am feeling uneasy staying in this house," Drake continued while looking around.

"It wasn't my choice to come here and stay with me," Raven snapped.

"And it wasn't my choice to eat spoiled food and eventually die," he countered with a grin.

Raven opened her mouth but closed it again. "Touché," Raven said.

"So, are you coming or not?" Drake said and held out his hand in front of Raven who was sitting on the edge of the bed.

Raven glanced at his hand then away from it. She kept glancing back and forth until she finally gave in.

"Fine," she said annoyed as she took his hand and Drake pulled her up.

"Good," Drake said with his smile.

"But only this once," Raven quickly added.

"Fine by me," he said with a grin and pulled her towards the door.

"No letting go?"

"No letting go," Drake agreed and they were out of the house.

They were across the park, hands together. Raven froze at the memory and Drake turned to face her.

"Is something wrong?" Drake asked worriedly.

"Bus," Raven replied silently.

"Don't worry, we'll get across safely," Drake said reassuringly and squeezed her hand.

Raven looked at him with a smile and nodded. They made their way across the street and Raven let out a sigh of relief.

"There, that wasn't so bad," Drake said in a slight teasing tone.

Raven rolled her eyes and looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"What?" Drake asked innocently.

"I know what you're thinking Drake," Raven said.

"What am I thinking Ms. Sanders?" Drake asked with a grin.
