Chapter Seven

Jena exhaled deeply and flickered her eyes. Raven had been watching her mother for the past twelve hours, glancing from her heaving chest then to her beeping monitor, she didn't want to take any chances.

Jena's eyes were half-opened now, and she slowly turned to face Raven. She gave her mom a slight smile and Jena gave one in return.

"Hey mom. Dad's just getting some stuff at the house. He'll be back soon," Raven said and stroked Jena's hair.

"Raven?" Jena said her voice weak.

Raven stood up and leaned over to hear her better.

     "I saw her," Jena whispered.

"Saw who mom?" Raven asked curiously.

"Your sister," Jena replied. Raven stared at her with a flushed face.

"I first saw her in your room when you screamed. Then, I started seeing and hearing her," Jena said and breath in a lungful of air before she continued.

"I treated her as if she was still alive, but she was just full of rage . . . of hatred, I didn't know how to act anymore. I saw her in the rearview mirror, and that's when something hit my car. It seemed like a train but the train just passed by..."

Raven remembered the butterfly. Was there something to do with the butterfly?

"I believe you now," Jena breathed and Raven just smiled, she didn't know what to say.

Josh was meeting Jake at a pub, Plutonium. He parked his car near the sidewalk and got out.

The music and lights of blue, red and green from inside boomed outside the streets. There were a couple of gangsters smoking outside. Two or three pairs were lip locking near the alleyway.

Josh walked towards the door when a bouncer appeared, blocking the doorway. His tanned skin looked darker than usual against the dim lights of the pub. He's muscles made his black shirt stretch more. He looked at Josh with crossed arms and a slightly furrowed brows.

Josh just smiled and flashed his I.D. in front of him. The bouncer smirked and gave way for Josh to enter.

"Minors these days." He heard the bouncer say who closed the door.

He saw Jake sitting on a stool in the bar, who already consumed six bottles of beer and three glasses of whisky.

Josh went towards him and gave him a slap on the shoulder before sitting on the stool next to him. Jake just smirked as he finished his fourth glass of whisky in four big gulps before slamming the glass on the counter.

"Take it easy boy or you have to pay for those glasses," the bartender said, who was wiping some glasses.

It was nearing three in the morning and it was almost closing time. Not much people around in the bar, just drunken business men and sloppy old people. But this was the only time both Josh and Jake could drink their hearts out without being raided by the police. And during this hour, drinks are at half price.

"What took you so long?" Jake said drunkenly

"I had trouble dodging the police," Josh replied who nodded at the bartender who then slid towards him two bottles of beer.
