Chapter Fourteen
"I'm off to work," Robert said and kissed Raven's forehead who was sitting on the stool in the kitchen.
"Not eating breakfast?" Beatrice asked.
"Business meeting," Robert said.
"You could have told me Robbie that you had someplace to attend to, so I could've cooked early," Beatrice said with a smile.
"You see things in the future, why would I?" Robert said with a teasing smile.
"Touché," Beatrice said pointing her spatula at Robert who just smirked.
"I'll be back before dinner," Robert said and patted Raven's head.
"Bye dad, love you," Raven said with a smile.
"Love you too. See you later kiddo," Robert replied.
"Robbie, take this with you," Beatrice said quickly and handed him a small paper bag.
Robert glanced at the paper bag then to Beatrice. Making eye contact with Beatrice he nodded and took it from her hands and headed to the front door.
He was about to open the door when he remembered something.
"Right, car keys," he said to himself as he placed the paper bag on the coffee table in the living room as went up and got his car keys.
Robert went down from his bedroom while jumbling his keys in his hand as he hurriedly went out.
"You can go watch TV while you wait," Beatrice said to Raven like she was still a five-year old who likes watching cartoons in the morning.
"Okay," Raven said while rolling her eyes and headed to the living room. She was about to sit down on the coach when she saw the paper bag Beatrice handed to Robert.
Raven picked it up and headed towards the kitchen.
"Um, Beatrice?" she said as she looked down at the paper bag she was holding.
Beatrice looked up from slicing some tomatoes and her eyes grew wide. Raven glanced up to see Beatrice walking towards her.
"He left it," Beatrice said eyeing the bag.
"I guess, dad always leaves things when he's in a hurry, and mom would always go to his office to give it to him. Can't you just bring it?" Raven asked.
"No, no! This can't be!" Beatrice exclaimed grabbing the bag from her hands and placed it on the counter.
Raven blinked confused as Beatrice opened the bag and didn't take anything out but hurriedly went towards the basement.
"Don't touch it!" Beatrice said loudly as she headed down the stairs.
Raven eyed the bag for quite a while and suddenly the bag moved making her jerk backwards.
"Um, Beatrice?" she said loudly, her voice shaking. There was no reply.
Raven slowly moved towards the moving bag and suddenly it glowed making her tumble down the ground.
The bag shook fiercely making Raven jumped to her feet and hurriedly headed towards the basement.
"Beatrice, the bag is –" she cut herself off as she saw Beatrice in front of a shrine murmuring Latin.
