Freakish

Chapter 2: The Air

"Ok, ok, everybody follow me," coach yells. Right away Kc and Jc come look for me and when Kc caught up, he holds onto my arm but I'm ok with it because I'm actually kind of freaking out. Coach leads all of us down to a fallout shelter.
"Nobody panic, this place was built a long time ago to withstand just about anything, we could last weeks in here if we needed to," he says. Everybody was looking for how this could have started through social media.
"On the news there saying that there was a spill," Natalie says. All the sudden the ground shook a little and the lights flickered.
"I ain't staying down here, you trying to get us trapped or something," Diesel says as he stands up. After he walks out the ground shakes and the lights flicker again. After what Diesel said nobody wants to be down here so everybody starts walking back upstairs to the front door. As we get to the lobby Diesel's standing by the door.
"Diesel, you don't leave the shelter tell I say you leave the shelter," Coach says as we all walk to the front doors. I look out the window to see something that would change my life.

Then the lights flicker the ground shakes yet again.
"God, are phones are useless now," a cheerleader say as she throw it on the floor. Then people started leaving to go find there family and a safer place to be.
"Keep it dry and high," Lyle says as he fist bumps Diesel then walks out.
"What, you're just gonna let him leave," Grover says to Diesel.
"He's got his truck," Diesel says.
"I got to go get Jackie," Kc says.
"What no you have to stay," Jc says.
"I'm not leaving Jackie," he says. After Kc left I cling to Jc and didn't let go.
"People you can not breathe that air," Natalie say blocking the door.
"She's right guys,my dad always says when in doubt don't go out," Mary says.
A whole bunch of people left there is only like 14 people at the most I think. I think just Alexis, Noodle, Lashawn, Zoe, me, Liv, Jc, Grover, Mary, Diesel, Natalie, Barrett, Coach and Violet.
"Oh my god," Noodle says. We all turn around and see a huge orange could of smoke cover the school.

"Ok everybody go spread out and look for a way to get in touch with anybody that can help us," Coach demands.

Krista's POV
In the hall

"Hey their," Veronica greets as she catches up with me.
"What do you want Veronica? I ask.
"Do I have to want something to talk to you?" she asks.
"Yes you're like the number one popular girl and I'm the nerd," I reply.
"So, what does that have to do with things?" She asks.
"What do you want me to do?" I ask.
"I just need the answer to Monday's history test," she replies. As I was about to answer her, the room turned a darkish sunset orange color. I turn around and look at the window.
"Oh my god, that alarm wasn't a drill, there was an actual explosion," I say.
"Come on we have to go cover your mouth with your sleeve and don't breathe the air," I add. After we got to the science wing, we calm down and lock all the outside doors. I go into the bathroom and cup my hands to fill it with water and splash my face I look up into the mirror and start to cry. Then Veronica walked in.
"Oh my god Krista, what' wrong?" She asks hugging me.
"I'm so worried about what happened to Grover, we live right next to the plant," I say as I start to cry a little more.
"And I don't know what happened to Alexis and Brianna and Liv," I add.
After I calm down a little more we walk over to the nurses room and grab some blankets from there.
And try to sleep on the beds in there. Right after I finally fell asleep, I woke up to Veronica walking into the hallway. I get up and follow her out there.
"What are you doing?" I ask. She turns around and her cheeks have mascara and tears running down them. She runs over to me and hugs me.
"I don't know what to do I've never felt so much stress and anxiety and depression at once," she explains.
"It'll be fine Veronica I promise," I tell her.

Veronica's POV

After I let go of Krista shes starts shaking, her eyes roll behind her head, she falls to the floor. I start freaking out and crying. I start having an anxiety attack. After I wake up from crying myself to sleep Krista's sitting up leaning her head against the wall.
"You scared me I thought you were dying or something," I explain.
"We need to get my meds there in my locker," she tells me.
"We can't go to your locker there's smoke out there," I remind her.
"There's probably some downstairs in the emergency staff room," I explain.
"Ok can you try and find them I don't want to get up I'm to afraid," she replies.
"If I make to much movement without my meds it will keep happening it doesn't stop at all and without anesthesia to keep me asleep and from doing it, I'll die," She explains.
"Ok I got it," I say. I grab a flashlight and go downstairs. It was kind of freaky but that's normal for dark rooms in schools. All of a sudden, the nurse comes out but she's all purple and red and her eyes are white and life less. She starts to chase me around the room.
"KRISTA, KRISTA HELP," I yell. She comes down there and whacks Ms. Rodney with the bat from the principals office. Right after hitting her, she starts to have another seizure and Ms. Rodney gets back up and I grab the bat and just hit her over and over again. When I stopped I couldn't help but cry. I help Krista back upstairs to a bed and she woke up like five minutes after I layed her down.
"What happened why was she attacking you?" She asks.
