Chapter 9: Rescue and Recovery part 1

Diesel and I look at each other then look back at the man.
"Any time you want to let me in," he adds. We cover our mouths with our sleeves and let him in. He walks down to the end of the hall and takes off the top part of the blue suit.
"Go and tell the others to come here," diesel says.
"Ok I'll be right back," I goodbye before leaving the hall.

Brianna's POV
We're all sitting in the student lounge talking about what we'd be doing if none of this ever happened, when Natalie walks in with a big smile on her face.
"What are you so happy about?" I ask with a chuckle.
"There's a man here to save us," she claims. She leaves the room and we follow. We get to one of the halls and walk to the end of it. There's a man sitting down taking off a blue hazmat suit.
"Hey everybody, I'm John Collins," he greets.
"Now I'm going to need to know a couple things before we do anything," he adds.
"Anything, we just need to get out of here," Jc says.
"How many people are here?" he asks.
"We're down to 12," I answer.
"Ok, who got onto the radio?" he asks.
"That would be me, Barrett McIntyre," Barrett brags.
"Well Barrett, you called into Calvary," Collins replies.
"Anything you guys need?" he asks.
"Water, we went out like yesterday or something," I say.

*He grabs his pager*

"Open water to sector 17," he demands pressing the button.
"Why did you turn it off anyway?" Barrett asks.
"We needed as much water power as we could get to fight the fires," Collins replies.
"Now I'll need everybody's names then go get a drink, we leave in 5," he adds. We all look at each other and chuckle. We all walk into the bathroom and get water.
"Ha, water has never tasted so good," Grover states. We all chuckle a little.
"Thanks to the brains from downtown," he adds patting Barrett on the back.
"Smile nerd, you did a good thing," Diesel exclaims as we all walk out. I stay behind with Barrett.
"You ok?" I ask.
"No. Do you ever get the fact that a man came just now saying he's going to save us," he says.
"Well yeah what else would he want to do?" I ask.
"You guys are so blinded by him," he says.
"Whatever Barrett," I say as I walk out. I walk into the principals office where everybody is except for Grover, Barrett, and Natalie. All the sudden Natalie bursts through the door.
"Collins, um Barrett was erasing files of Keller chemical off the computer," she exclaims out of breathe.
"Show me where," he demands. They both walk out and we wait for them to come back. After 5 minutes they walk back in.
"Well, whatever he was trying to hide, it's gone forever," Collins explains.

Grover's POV
I walk to one of the English classes to see if the guinea pig is ok and to bring it along when I run into Barrett.
"Dude they've been looking for you, because you took the files out," I explain.
"That's the last you need to worry about," he states.
"Do you really think that they just made a vaccine for this in a day?" he asks.
"Well it's not impossible," I reply.
"Then you're just as gullible as everybody else," he says pushing past me trying to leave. I push him up against the door and he drops a vaccine shot from his hand.
"You're running?" I ask.
"No just let me show you," he says. I let go of him and he walks to the guinea pig cage. He grabs the guinea pig and puts half the shot in it. Once he puts it back in the cage it just keeps moving around like nothing happened.
"This is a waste of my time," I explain as I walk away. Right as I open the door a freak jumps on me. I push it off and pull Barrett out of the room. It opens the door and chases after me. I walk into a dead end and it jumps on me. Right as I'm fighting for my life I here a bullet from a silencer. The freak falls off me and collins walks in the room with a silencer in his hand.
"Thanks," I say as he helps me up.
"Do you know where Barrett is?" he asks.
"He ran the other way, I'll try to find him," I tell him.
"No it's ok, just go back to the group," he replies. I walk out of the room and go to the English room for the guinea pig. I look into the cage and the guinea pig is laying dead. I walk out of the room at look at the hall to my right. As I look to the left I see somebody laying against the stained glass door. I open the door and Barrett falls over knocked out. I turn around and see a fist coming straight towards my face.

Brianna's POV
(Collins walks in)
"Ok we're leaving soon," Collins says.
"Uh, where's Grover?" I ask.
"He said he's going to the bathroom," Collins answers.
"Oh ok," I reply. I think it's a little weird that we're not waiting for Grover but I just want to get out of here.

Grover's POV
I wake up with my hands behind me and I'm sitting down.
"What the fuck," I say to myself waking up.
"Help, HELP," I yell.
"Grover shut up, are you trying to attract freaks," somebody behind me demands. I bounce around in the chair to turn it around.
"Barrett, what the hell is going on?" I ask him.
"Collins attacked me and must have got you too," he replies.
"How long were we out?" I ask.
"Maybe 5 minutes not long though," he explains.
"Why did he knock us out instead of killing us?" I ask.
"Me, he wants to torture me for all I know, you, I have no idea," he explains concerned.
"We need to get out of here now or he's gonna kill all of them," he adds. His legs and arms are zip tied together and my arms are zip tied to the back legs of the chair. I jump up in the chair trying to break the back legs going down. It just hits the floor and doesn't break. I do it again and the legs snap.
"Shiiiiit, that hurt like a bitch," I explain winded as I roll over in pain.
"Hurry get the scissors that are in the desk," Barrett demands. I cut him free and then go to find everybody.

Krista's POV
"Ok everybody, roll up your sleeves," Collins tells us.
"Who wants to go first?" He asks holding up the vaccine.
"I will," Natalie offers. I think it's kind of weird that we're making the pregnant one go first.
"How bout I go first," I reply.
"Natalie you're pregnant and you might be allergic to anything in it," I add.
"Krista I don't - listen to her Natalie she has a point," Natalie explain as she's interrupted by Diesel.
"Just a pinch," Collins says before shoving the shot into my vain.
"Stings a little," I reply. He gives me a cotton ball to cover it with. All the sudden, Grover sneaks in the room with a giant piece of wood. We all look at him weird.
"What?" Collins asks as he turns around. Right as he turns around Grover smacks him in the face with the wood.
"Grover, what the hell?" Brianna asks.
"He's full of shit, it's poison, he's here to kill any witnesses," Grover explains. I feel like I'm going to pass out.
"Did he give anybody a shot yet?" he asks.
