Chapter 20: New Home

I start to fall over to something pushing my feet behind me. My eyes open to Grover sliding into me and I'm falling onto the floor. Once we both stop moving and focus on what's going on he starts trying to grab his shoulder. I see a rip in his shirt where there's a small bit of flesh missing.
"You shot me," he says looking at the blood on his fingers.
"Sorry, I thought you were freaks breaking in," I say as I start to get up.
"Speaking of which, they're still trying to," diesel says as he lays his body weight against the door.
"What do we do," I say.
"There's not much more, we killed most of them," Kc offers as he walks over to the door and helps lean against it.
"Then why is it taking both of you to hold the door closed?" I ask.
"Because they still have a lot of strength.......I mean after all, they're mutants," Kc answers.
"Ok, Krista, Liv, and Brianna, you guys grab the kids while Jc, Kc, and Diesel kill the rest of the freaks," Barrett says. Krista, Liv, and I all look at each other then at Barrett confused and mad.
"Excuse me," I reply.
"Barrett what do you mean by that exactly?" Krista asks.
"Yeah, Barrett," Violet agrees as she gets off the desk she was sitting on.
"I only meant the guys probably have more experience with weapons," he replies trying to escape what he started. Liv grabs Diesel's bat off the floor.
"Move," Krista demands. I grab my gun, Krista takes Grover's paper cutting knife, and violet grabs the teachers cane from the side of his desk.
"Move out of the way," Krista tells Diesel and Kc.

Grover's POV
The guys move out of the way and there's loud banging on the door. As the door raddles and shakes we all get more ready and nervous. The door busts down and about 6 freaks at minimum run towards the girls. They're all begin fighting and holding them off.

Liv's POV
I finish the last freak by hitting it a few times. I look up and the guys look at us in a some what surprised way.
"Lets go," Brianna says as she moves a strand of her hair away from her eye. Everybody walks towards the door while us girls stand by.
"Ladies first," Violet tells the guys walking by. Us girls chuckle a little and follow behind everyone else. We all walk into the basement and Brianna locks the door.
"Ok, so what's the move now?" Kc asks.
"I say we find somewhere else to go," Barrett implies.
"The school's not safe, half is smoke and freaks, and soon the air filters will go out along with the water and heat," he adds.
"Well, where else would we go?" Natalie asks.
"When I was at the hospital, I ran into Chase and Emmett, they said they were staying in the apparently non haunted house on top of the hill," Grover explains.
"Emmett's alive?" Brianna asks.
"Yea, and still dumb," Grover reassures.
"There's no freaks there?" Diesel asks.
"Yep, no freaks or smoke," Grover answers.
"Does Chase know about Adam's death?" I ask concerned.
"Weeeeeell, no," Grover answers.
"You should tell him though, you know, since you and Adam had a good connection," Grover implies. I exhale upsettingly.
"Ok, so we're going to the non haunted house on top the hill," Barrett reapplies.
"Let's go, I guess," Brianna says. I grab Arians hand tight as we all get ready to leave. Brianna picks up Jackie and Natalie's walking with Max. We all quickly run to the ambulance and all of us make it inside. As we're heading to the house Arian grabs my hand again and I look at her and smile.
"I need to tell you something," Arian says to me.
"What's up?" I ask.
"If I die, I want you to know, I'm proud of you, and I love you, and I'll always be with you," she answers.
"Why are you bringing this up?" I ask.
"You should know it, because I don't know when I'm gonna die," she replies.
"I'm not gonna let you die," I reassure.
"But if I do, you need to know that," she says.
"WE'RE HERE," Barrett yells. We all get out and go inside.

Brianna's POV
Chase opens the door and Emmett's behind him. I push pass Chase and hug Emmett really tight.
"I'm so happy you're ok," I tell him.
"I'm happy you're not dead to," he says. I let go of him as everybody starts to walk in. He looks next to me and sees Kc death glaring him and he jumps back.
"Ah...uh, you came out of nowhere," he says trying to act cool.
"Just shut up," Kc says.
"Ok," Emmett says before Kc even finished his sentence.
"Hey, uh, where's Adam?" Chase asks. Everybody looks at chase like they don't know what to do.
"Chase...Adam didn't make it," Liv replies.
"What do you mean?" He says with a fake chuckle.
"Why are you guys looking at me like that?" He asks concerned.
"Chase, he got bit," Liv explains slowly walking towards him.
"No," he says.
"There's nothing we could do," she adds stills walking towards him.
"No, he can't be dead," Chase says as his eyes start to fill with tears.
"I'm sorry, Chase," she replies. A tear from each eye falls as he sits down on the end table. She walks over to Chase and sits next to him. Everybody goes into the dining room and leaves Chase, Liv, and I. He turns towards Liv and hugs her. He starts to cry heavily on her shoulder.
"I'm so sorry," She says.
"I can't believe he's dead," he says as he cries more.

Krista's POV
"Damn, I really hoped he'd take that better," Jc says.
"Why?" Zoe asks.
"Because I knew it'd be hard to see, poor guy lost his brother forever," Jc answers.
"I'd be on the verge of suicide if Kc died," he adds.
"Yea, me to for my brother," I say as Grover looks and smiles at me. Finally, Brianna walks in here.
"He's really not ok," she says as she sits down by Emmett.
"Maybe I should talk to him, after all we've become best friends over this time," Emmett offers.
"Huh, can you believe a popular kid like me became best friends with a nerdy kid like him," Emmett adds with a small chuckle.
"Go ahead," Brianna replies.
"Why'll they're doing that, let's pick out our rooms," Barrett exclaims.
"Barrett, how heartless are you?" I ask.
"I don't have time for grief," he explains as he walks upstairs.
"Ugh," I groan. Everybody starts going upstairs to get a room so I decide to go find a good one before everybody takes them all.

Chase's POV
I go up to my room and lay in my bed. While trying to sleep I start to cry again. Adam may have been dumb and a pain in my ass, but he was my brother, and I couldn't have asked for a better one.

Brianna's POV
I go into the kitchen and grab a bottle of rolling rock as chase walks in.
"Oh hey," he greets.
"Hey, how you feeling?" I ask.
"Better...I guess," he replies.
"Just came for some vodka," he adds grabbing it from the fridge.
"Chase....are you sure you're ok?" I ask.
"..I don't know, I mean my brother is dead and I don't know where my sister is, and my parents are gone...I don't even know what to do anymore," he explains upset as I hug him again.
"And Emmett just reminds me of him to," he adds.
"What is with you and big dumb guys," I say as we both chuckle.
"I don't know," he answers as we chuckle more.
"I'm gonna go lay down and try to sleep," he goodbyes before leaving the kitchen.

As I'm leaving the kitchen a girl puts a gun up to my head and tells me to go into the living room.
