"Shit, guys, he's gonna die, WE HAVE TO HELP HIM," Brianna begs.
"There's nothing we can do, he's a goner," Adam replies. Brianna leans her ear up against the medal door and Adam starts to pace around us. Adam all the sudden sits down out of breath.
"You ok Adam?" I ask.
"Yeah it's just that, I almost got killed today," he replies.
"Help, help, open the door," we hear coming from the shelter.
"Guys he's alive we have to help him," Brianna pleads.
"I have an idea," Adam says.
"Is it any good?" I ask.
"Probably not, lets go," he replies.
"Everybody grab a chair," he adds. We all grab chairs. By now we know what he's doing. Natalie opens the door and we all run in and push the freaks back with the chairs. Grover leaves the room and we all follow.

Grover's POV
After I almost died we all walk up to the lounge. Everybody's already in there. Diesel looks at all the gas masks to make sure there all good. He gets up and leaves the room for a sec and comes back with a bottle of vodka.
"Aw, thanks man," I chuckle.
"Don't thank me, thank the unicorn girl," diesel replies before we all laugh. After drinking and taking a break of worrying about the world we all calm down for a bit.
"Guys, I hate to ruin the moment, but we have a problem," diesel explains.
"These masks are all shot, the filters gone," he adds.
"Well, all except this one," he adds as he puts down the one that I got.
"So only one of us can leave," Natalie says.
4:00 pm
We all walk to the cafeteria to eat and think about what we're going to do. Krista gets up and grabs a bowl from the kitchen. She tears off pieces of tape from a roll and rights all of our names on the piece of tape.
"Ok, Natalie you pick," she demands while handing Natalie the bowl.
"What why me?" Natalie asks.
"Because we took your name out, we know what secret you're keeping, it's kind of obvious," Krista replies. She reaches her hand in the bowl and stirs it around a little. I kind of stiff up. She pulls one out.
"Diesel,"she says. Everybody sighs in relief and diesel shakes his head 'ok'. He grabs the mask and paces back and forth a little.
"Put it on, see if we need to make any adjustments," Barrett tells him.
"Just give me a minute, I don't like feeling closed in," he explains.
"You're claustrophobic!?" Natalie states.
He shakes his head no with a chuckle. He takes a deep breathe and puts it over his face. He starts to pace and swing his arms around a little. He takes really deep long breathes and gets faster and shakier.
"This is stupid we can't give our only chance of survival to somebody who would hyperventilate before he could get any help," Barrett explains as he try's to take the mask off. Diesel pushes him away and takes the mask off himself.
"Look I can do this," he claims out of breathe. He throws the mask back on the table and wipes his face. Barrett walks over and reaches his hand in. He pulls it out.
"Lashawn," he says hesitantly.
"No, no it should be Diesel," Zoe wines.
"You know that if he could he would, plus I'll be fine," Lashawn tells Zoe.
6:00pm
We get the masks and a raincoat. We strap it all down with duck tape and plastic wrap.
"You sure this stuff will protect me?" Lashawn asks.
"Bout as sure I am the mask will," I answer. After he leaves Zoe goes to the second floor and won't stop waiting for him to answer.

Natalie's POV
I walk onto the stage where diesels sitting.
"You know I'm afraid of spiders," I tell him.
"I could have done it, if Lashawn dies it'll be my fault," he explains.
"Don't do that to yourself, you would if you could, everybody here knows that" I reply. He just looks out at the seats in the auditorium.
"I don't even think there's enough students to fill them anymore," I add.
"Not even half," he replies.
"It sucks because there was some big things I wanted to do, down to little things like getting seating in the lobby," I giggle.
"Like when you wait for detention to start?" he asks.
"More like when I wait for my ride," I answer.
"Oh, yeah," he chuckles. We both walk back to the student lounge and talk in there. Diesel leaves after a bit without telling me where he's going. After 20 minutes passes by I get worried and go look for him. I get out to the lobby and see the couch from the teachers lounge. I sit down on the couch and diesel walks out.
"Do you like it?" he asks.
"Of course, t's thoughtful," I answer.
"Yeah, well, I thought with all the bad stuff going on this would be somewhat nice," he explains before sitting down next to me.
"It is, I do have a question though," I reply.
"How did you move it alone?" I ask.
"Lyle and I use to be movers," he answers.
"Summer job, but we got fired, to many rules," he adds.
"Like don't brake the China or don't scratch the furniture," I ask.
"More like don't drink the alcohol or don't sleep on the pool table," he replies with a laugh.
"Let me guess that was Lyle," I say.
"If you say so," he replies as I chuckle. He slowly puts his arm around me and I scoot closer. He looks at me and I make eye contact. He leans in, and we kiss. More like make out. As we're making out something starts blinding us. We stop and look out the door and there's a man with a flash light in a blue suit.
"John Collins rescue and recovery," he greets.
