Chapter 19: The outbreak

I open my eyes and focus on the ceiling.
"What the hell...how long have I been out?" I ask as I sit up.
"Um, like 45 minutes," I hear somebody say. I look over and see Grover leaning against a cabinet.
"Nice to see your awake," he explains walking over to me.
"Nice to see your alive," I reply.
"I guess I brought the meds back right on time," he assumes.
"Well I still passed out, but sure," I reply as he walks over to the table. He reaches in his bag and pulls out two pill bottles.
"I brought two of them just in case," he says tossing one then the other. All of a sudden Liv and Krista walk in together.
"You're awake," Krista says as she sits down next to me. Noodle, Jc, and Kc all walk in also.
"Damn, took you long enough," Noodle tells Grover as he walks over to Krista and stands behind her.
"Still did a better job then you would have," Grover replies.
"Lets not argue please," Krista says.
"How do you feel?" Liv asks.
"Fine now, do you guys feel ok," I ask Krista and Liv.
"I'm great actually," Krista says. I look at noodle then I look at Krista and smirk.
"I'm feeling better, by the way, Grover, I forgot to say thank you so, thank you," she says. He nods his head and leaves the room.
"What's wrong with him?" Jc asks.
"I don't know, but I'm going to find out," Krista answers as she stands up and walks out of the room.

Krista's POV
"Grover, why are you so upset?" I ask him.
"I'm not upset, I'm pissed, you're hanging out with that little prick, you know he punched me in the gut," he answers.
"Yeah, because you punched him first," I reply.
"I don't like him..I don't know if you guys are dating or whatever, but if you are I'm not going to support it," he says.
"Well fine, I don't need your support," I explain before I walk off.

Barrett's POV
I walk down the hall to see what's going on and here a lot of thumping and banging coming from the basement.
"What the hell?" I say to myself. I walk over to the basement door and see freaks banging against it and the hinges are shaking.
"Oh shit," I say as I run to the student lounge where half of the group are.
"Guys we have a major problem and very little time, we need to go now," I say panting.
"What?" Natalie says confused.
"Follow me......QUICKLY," I reply as I run toward the anxiety room. We all run in the anxiety room panting.
"We need to go now, they probably broke through the door already," I say.
"What are you talking about?" Kc asks.
"The freaks in the basement, they got out and are probably already running down the halls to where we are," I reply.
"HOW DID THEY GET OUT," Kc yells.
"Shut the fuck up, Kc," Jc says hitting his arm. All of a sudden, we hear several footsteps in the hall.
"Everybody down now, turn off the lights," Jc demands. We all get down and diesel turns off the lights.
"Guys...not everybody's in here," Brianna explains.
"We need to get out of this room and get out of the school," I tell him.
"He's right," Violet agrees.
"Yeah, and find everybody," Zoe insists.
"Maybe not everybody," noodle whispers.
"It was a joke," he's adds after Krista hits his chest.
"Ok, where should we go for a safe room?" Jc asks.
"Maybe the cafeteria," Zoe offers.
"No, all the doors to it are unlocked, there's freaks everywhere," Barrett argues.
"Gym?" Natalie asks.
"Never mind that was stupid," she adds.
"Guys it's obvious, they came from the basement so there's obviously no more down there, that's where it's safe," Krista announces.
"True," I reply.
"Ok, so we'll all search for people and then meet up in the basement in 10 minutes, if you aren't back in 10 minutes then that sucks because that's when we're closing the doors and locking it," I explain.
"Ok deal," Brianna agrees.
"K, grab or find a weapon and lets go," I say.
"Let me go first, I have a silencer so I'll kill any freaks that are to close to us," Brianna demands.
"Brianna," Kc says concerned.
"I'll be fine, lets go....Barrett open the door," she replies. I open the door and she goes first with everybody following.
"Ok everybody split up," I tell them.
"Barrett there aren't any freaks," Brianna replies.
"That makes no sense," I answer confused. We all walk over to the basement and see the freaks still banging against the door.
"Shit, everybody back," diesel demands pushing us all back. They all break through the door as we're right there.
"SHIT," Violet yells. We all end up fighting the freaks. Liv and Krista grab all the kids and take them to a room with a lot of locks as Brianna follows behind, shooting any freaks that try to attack them.

Brianna's POV
We get into a room and lock the door, then barricade it with file cabinets. Krista and Liv get in the back of the room and comfort the kids as I sit a little near the door in case any freaks break through. We hear a lot of thumping and smacking and yelling. But it finally all got quiet about 5 minutes later. I walk up to the door when all of the sudden there's loud banging against it. We are all frightened by it. I hold my gun up as I'm shaking vigorously, knowing that if the freaks break through I will die.
"We're going to die....aren't we?" Arian asks.
"I don't know," Liv replies holding her tighter.
"Just close your eyes, it'll all be over soon," Liv says as they all close there eyes. The door breaks down, I close my eyes tightly and shoot forward.
