Chapter 18: Medicine Mission

"Well, how much do you remember?" Brianna asks.
"The town alarm went off and I went home to get Jackie and Arian when a huge cloud of orange smoke covered me," I explain.
"Ok, this is what happened, you turned into a freak and a little boy named max, his parents, left him 7 pills that are a cure for these freaks and he gave you one," she explains.
"I definitely...don't believe that," I disagree.
"Told you," Jc replies.
"Are you sure that's what happened?" I ask.
"Yes, everybody witnessed it," brianna answers.
"Damn," I reply.

Grover's POV
Once I get outside I run to the ambulance. I hop onto the drivers seat then shut and lock the door. My gut still hurts and I just ran 50 feet while crouching my body 90 degrees. I take a relief exhale right as a freak smacks against my window.
"SHIT," I yell. I put the keys in the ignition and speed off. I regret not bringing anybody with me, now I'm going to be in a hospital all alone.
After 30 minutes of driving I pull into the hospital ambulance drive in. I pull the keys out of ignition and run inside. So far I haven't seen any freaks and there's no smoke inside, that's a great sign. I walk up a flight of stairs and find a prescription room. It's filled with last name labels and medication. I start to look for my last name, jones. I really hope that they have my sisters medication refilled. I find where it says jones and a little after that where it says Morgan. I move on to look for Ross.
*door squeaks*
"I'm literally gonna shit my pants," I think to myself.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, this is the end, I'm going to die today," I think to myself. I hear heavy footsteps coming towards the room I'm in. I start breathing really heavily.
I hide right behind the door. Somebody pushes the door open and it comes back and hits me.
"Ow," I say as I fall into the floor. I look up and see Emmett.
"Bro, why the did you hit me with a door?" I ask.
"I didn't know you were there," he replies as he helps me up.
"You scared the shit out of me," I tell him as I'm still breathing heavily.
"Yo, you seriously need to breath," he replies.
"CHASE, YOU GET THEM YET," Emmett yells while poking his head out of the room.
"ONE SECOND, I CANT FIND A FEEDING TUBE," he yells back.
"CANT YOU FEED YOURSELF," Emmett yells.
"Oh shit, NEVERMIND I FORGOT THAT YOUR DISABLED," Emmett adds.
"He's disabled?" I ask concerned for Emmett.
"Yeah, apparently the only reason he's so smart is because his brain gets bigger and bigger causing him to need feeding tubes and weird oxygen bag things," Emmett replies.
"And who told you that?" I ask.
"Chase did," Emmett answers.
"Emmett, I think chase was lying to you," I tell him.
"What," Emmett says upsettingly. Emmett crosses his arms and makes his angry face. Chase walks in with a bag full of medical supplies and Emmett knocks it all out of his hands.
"Emmett you asshole," chase says as he starts to pick it up.
"You lied to me," he groans.
"I'm sorry..... feel better now," chase replies.
"Yeah," Emmett says as he smiles.
"Ok then to make yourself happier you should clean up that mess," chase insists.
"Ok," Emmett says. I pull chase into the hallway.
"What are you guys doing here?" I ask them.
"Getting any medical supplies we'll need," Chase answers.
"Where are you guys even staying?" I ask.
"The "haunted" mansion that's at the top of the hill, on the street with all the big houses," he explains.
"Yeah, it's been empty for years, they put it up for sale but nobody bought it because they thought it was haunted," he adds.
"Damn, is there freaks there?" I ask.
"Nope, like I said, vacant for years," he explains as he grabs another box of gauze.
"Where are you staying?" He asks me.
"I'm staying at the high school with a whole bunch of people...Krista, Brianna, Liv, Jc, Kc---he scares me," I begin to explain as I'm paused by Emmett.
"Could you guess how many?" He asks.
"About 15, maybe less, maybe more," I answer.
"There's only freaks in the basement...we've already lost some people to the virus, or to not getting any medication they need..which is why I'm here, Brianna, Krista, and Liv all need there medication or they'll die so I need to be quick," I explain. I grab Liv's meds and start to walk away.
"Uh hey, wait up," Chase shouts. He catches up to me as Emmett follows behind him.
"Do you guys want to come live with us, I mean we have the space and stuff, and I know that Brianna likes science, there's a testing lab, she can use it to try and find a cure," Chase explains walking beside me down the hall while Emmett was falling behind trying to pick up the stuff he keeps dropping.
"I don't know I'll have to ask the group, if we do, we'll have to take several different trips," I reply.
"Ok, I guess we'll keep an eye out at the house," he goodbyes.
"Ok see ya," I say before I put on the gas mask. I walk outside and run to the ambulance. I'm happy he didn't ask about Adam, I don't want to have to tell him what happened.

Krista's POV
I wake up from a nightmare about Grover. He was being eaten alive right in front of me and I couldn't do anything to stop it. As I sit up, Noodle walks in.
"Hey, why are you awake so early?" He asks.
"I had a nightmare, about my brother," I tell him.
"Luckily it was just a nightmare," he says as he sits down next to me.
"How long ago did he leave...my brother?" I ask.
"Like, almost 3 hours ago," he answers.
"I'm so worried," I say.
"Krista...don't worry, he can handle himself," noodle replies as he puts his arm around me. I lean in closer to him and we start cuddling.

After I lay down with Krista on top of me, she falls asleep, I don't plan on waking her up so I try to fall asleep.

Brianna's POV
As Kc and Jc start talking I decide to walk the halls.
"Brianna, please stay close to this room, if you stop breathing I need to know so I can get you," Kc pleads.
"Ok," I reply as I shut the door behind me. I'm not actually going to stay over there. I've lasted this long, I should be fine. It's weird being alone in the halls. I guess I'm just going to look for Liv. When they brought Kc in the room, I remember her leaving. I walk into the cafeteria and see Liv sitting at a table alone, looking at the wall of people we lost written on it.
"Hey, why are you here alone?" I ask as I sit down.
"Brianna, Arian almost died," Liv explains.
"Liv it's over now, we have to move on from things like this, we can't live in the past, reality is hitting us hard, we have to focus on our future and how to keep a future," I explain.
"It's hard, what if something like this happens again," she replies.
"Then we'll watch her...I know it's hard Liv, my brother almost died," I exclaim.
"Just like Arian almost died," I add. After I finish my sentence my breathe starts getting heavier. I think my lungs are closing on me.
"Brianna, Brianna, hey breath slowly," she says.
"Come on we need to find your brothers," she adds as she gabs my arm and puts it over her shoulder. We start to walk down the hallway and I getting barely any breathe.
"Brianna please, come on," she begs as I fall bringing her down with me. I can hear her voice, she's crying.
"KC, JC, HELP," she yells as another tear goes down her face. I see to people running towards me but there to blurry. I'm trying to keep my eyes open....but they shut.
