Chapter 24: Truth

"Just like that, kick him out," Emmett says.
"Emmett, the only way we keep this place still here with no issues, is if we keep the bad people out," I explain.
"Then what, some of the strongest people we have here have done the worst," He explains.
"Like who?" I ask confused.
"Diesel, he curbed somebody, me, I've stole and I've kicked the crap out of a couple nerds just to be cool, Brianna, Liv, especially Barrett but he's the weird tech freak so I'm sure we'll need him for something," He explains.
"Are you dying, I don't think you've ever said a sentence in your life that made sense," I explain.
"What, I'M DYING," he yells worried.
"No, no, no, it's just a joke," I say.
"Don't joke about that, you think I know what's going on with my body," He says.
"Well you do know your body better then anybody else," I say.
"I don't I've had some weird se- STOP," I say stopping him before he could finish his sentence.
"We'll have a meeting about Zayn and take a vote on it, and that's only if he is lying," I say.
"Ok, good," He says as Brianna walks in.
"What's going on now?" Brianna asks me.
"Why are you shirtless and how do YOU have a six pack?" she asks.
"Because I didn't have time to put a shirt on and I don't know, I work out I guess," I explain.
"Just ask Sadie she'll explain what's going on," I reply to her previous question as Violet walks in.
"I got these two, check Emmett's shot," Brianna tells Violet.
"Ok, Chase, we got it from here, you can rest now," Violet says.
"Ok, night guys," I say as I walk out.

Brianna's POV
"So, you wanna tell me what happened?" I ask Sadie.
"Sure, it's not like I have a choice," She says.
"No, you do, we can just go with Zayn's story, unless he was lying," I say. She looks over at Red and looks back down at her feet dangling off the counter.
"No, Zayn was telling the truth, Red and I were arguing and he threw me against the wall so Zayn kind of pinned him down and punched him till he was unconscious," She explains.
"Ok," I say disappointed in her decision.
"What's going to happen to Red since he did that?" She asks me.
"I don't know, but I heard Chase saying he was possibly going to exile Zayn for lying and hurting somebody if he was lying so whatever is happening to Red, I wouldn't be surprised if it had something like that connected to his punishment," I reply.
"Are you sure that Zayn was telling the truth?" I ask hoping she'll tell me but without her confirming it, I can't do anything about it.
"Can I talk to you in private?" She asks me.
"Sure," I answer before she grabs me and pulls me out of the room.
"If Zayn finds out I told you he- nothing will happen to you," I explain after stopping her.
"NO, you don't understand, he WILL do anything he can to kill me," She says as she gets teary eyed while squeezing my wrists.
"Ok, but what happened?" I ask.
"Red told Zayn not to be so rude to me and usually Zayn just ignores him but I don't know, he just snapped and he got in Red's face so Red punched him then Zayn started punching him and they were just going all over the room knocking things over and smacking each other against walls. I kept telling them to stop and when Zayn pinned him down and started choking him I tried to stop him and he hit me in face, then Red passed out and Zayn came at me and threw me into one of the bunks," She explains.
"Can you maybe put a word in or something and try to keep Red out of it, and make sure Zayn knows it wasn't me who snitched," She begs.
"I will do everything I can," I say as we walk back into the lab. As we walk in the lab Red starts to sit up.
"You're ok," Sadie says relieved as she runs over and hugs him.
"Where's Zayn?" He asks.
"Don't worry about that, you need rest," I tell him as I move his feet back onto the bed. He gets comfy and falls right back asleep. As I start to walk away towards the door Sadie stops me.
"Brianna, can I sleep in here with Red, I can't go back to that room, at least not for an hour.
"Oh we'll be getting you and Red a room upstairs with all of ours," I explain. She smiles at me before going back over to Red.
"Brianna, we have an issue with Emmett," Violet explains. We walk outside the lab as she shows me Emmett's bandage.
"What, it seems fine," I say.
"Brianna, he hasn't stopped bleeding," She says.
"He's losing way to much blood, we need to find somebody with his same blood type," she says.
"Ok, I'll run some tests to find out his blood type," I explain as I walk back into the room.
"Ok, and be quick," she says.

Chase's POV
As I leave the lab about to go upstairs I decide to go down to the basement to see if I could get a story out of anybody else.
"I'm coming in," I say as I start to unlock the door. I open the door and the rest of the three are all sitting on there bunks.
"Is he gonna be ok?" Olli asks.
"I think so," I say.
"You guys good friends?" I ask him.
"Yeah, very," He answers.
"I need to talk to you in the hall," I tell him. As we're walking out towards the door Zayn stands up and grabs Olli's arm. I raise my gun up to Zayn immediately.
"Zayn, let go right now," I say.
"Just like that huh, put a gun in my face," he says with his hand still there.
"I have lost all trust for you when you shot my best friend," I say. He lets go of Olli before him and I continue to the hall.
"So how long have you and Red been friends?" I ask him as we sit against the wall.
"Well, not long, we never talked before the explosion but after, we just clicked," He explains.
"That's what happened to me and my best friend Emmett," I reply.
"Yeah, sorry about Zayn, he acts out sometimes, especially since you shot one of our own," He informs.
"Would he do anything to keep you guys safe?" I ask.
"Yes, but if he's the one doing the punishing he doesn't care how hurt we get," He explains.
"What happened in the room just now with Red and Sadie and him?" I ask.
"What Zayn said," he exclaims.
"Something bad will happen to whoever's fault it is, so if it really was Red's fault he will be getting the rightful punishment," I explain. All of a sudden there's a loud bang on the front door. I quickly walk upstairs with Olli as we meet with Brianna and Violet by the door.
"The safe haven note I left in the public," Brianna says.
"Brianna there's already enough people here," I remind her as there's another loud knock on the door that goes along with "Is anybody inside".
"Cover your mouths everybody," I say. I swing the door open and there's 4 people standing there. I pull them in and shut the door while fanning the air.
"Sign your names on that paper, we just need to know who's here," I say.
"Hi, I'm Stefan this my brother Damon, our friend Jason, and this girl we found on our way, her name is Jamie," One of the guys say.
"Yep, just sign your name, age, any weapons you have, and the date," I remind them.
"Okay," Stefan says.
"You guys lose anybody?" Brianna asks them.
"Yeah, Stefan and I's best friend was at the school during football practice when the explosion happened," Damon explains.
"Oh, who was it, I might know him?" Brianna asks.
"I think I've seen you at my house with him before," He says.
"Yeah, you seem familiar," She says.
"I think you guys were hooking up," He says.
"Who?" She asks with a chuckle.
"His name is Emmett," He says.
"Emmett Kellan?" I ask.
"Yeah," He says.
"I think you'll wanna come see this," I say leading Stefan and Damon to the lab.
