Grey Rutherford looked closely at herself in the mirror, examining the bags under her eyes. Her eyes trailed down to her outfit, all black with a graceful Vera Wang dress, a little overdressed for court but if there was one thing her mother taught her, it was that you could never be overdressed.
Bail. She was glad for her dad, who'd gotten her bail. Although the reason for her getting arrested, she didn't know. She didn't even think bail was possible for her, but her dad it.
She concluded that the reason didn't necessarily matter considering Jason was a cop. And Kyle was his best friend, ugh life was unfair.
She was due to go in a few minutes, that time spent walking idly around the room she was put in and staring at her pathetic reflection in the mirror here.
She had to tell the truth, there was no other way about it. She wasn't permitted to contact anyone and somehow, her phone had gotten taken away.
She remembered her dad's expression when she told her what was going on. At first it was shock and then he was angry, not because she had buried such a secret for a long time but because she hadn't told him.
And the fact that there was hardly anything he could do about it. But in Grey's point of view, he'd done plenty just for bailing her out.
He said he would have preferred to be her attorney, but she refused saying that she didn't need one, considering she was a witness and Mr. Sayef had actually made a case against the school.
He had protested, but she had stopped him saying that the school already has an attorney and that she was gonna be put on the stand.
She was suddenly snapped out of her reverie as footsteps echoed from outside the door, getting closer. She unconsciously held a breath, her heart beating fast.
The door opened to reveal Seth.
She exhaled in relief.
"Good god, I thought it was Kyle." She said raising an eyebrow. He was wearing a Hermés suit, all black that contrasted greatly with his pale skin and blonde hair.
