Percy's POV I shot out of bed as my alarm clock blared its horrible music. I hopped in the shower and washed my hair and my body. I got out, brushed my teeth and tried to tame my messy hair with no luck. I got dressed in my first day outfit- royal blue tshirt, dark blue ripped skinny jeans, and yellow and royal blue (school colors) varsity swim jacket. I knew that as soon as I stepped foot inside Goode, I'd be stampeded by girls; mainly Kayla Quesato-Dare, the schools very own slut, and the very human who wants to have at me. She always calls me her boyfriend, and her locker is only two away from mine. I try to tell her that I have a girlfriend, and show her the picture of Annabeth and she thinks I make stuff up to "get rid of her." OF COURSE I WANT HER GONE!!! Then there's my friends, Eileen, Liam, James and Lila. Liam and James are on the men's swim team, and Eileen and Lila are on the woman's swim team. My mortal friends I mean. I also have other mortal friends that aren't on the swim team. Like Courtney, Sarah, and Derek. Except I keep telling Sarah and Courtney to join so finally they did after me begging them all summer long.
I parked in the empty lot across the street from the school, locking the doors as I got out. I stuffed the keys in my pocket, and jogged to the front door of the school. There was a large banner, that read, 'Welcome Students!' I was not feeling welcome.
I stand corrected. As I walked into school, my friends surrounded me in, like, a huddle formation. They all hugged me, and said they missed me more the girls then the guys. I couldn't find Courtney, Sarah or Derek. Annabeth knows about the girls and that Eileen has a boyfriend, Sammy, and Lila's boyfriend is James. And Sarah and Courtney are single. I heard the familiar sound of heels clip-clipping towards me. "Hey baby," Kayla says in a flirtatious tone. "How was your summer?"
"It was good Kayla, how about you? I mean I got to spend time with my girlfriend, so what's better?"
"You spent no time with me baby, but my summer was great. I went to Paris, London and Australia. I invited you you know!"
"I was talking about Annabeth, my girlfriend. You know, the gorgeous girl with stormy gray eyes in the real picture I showed you." "You're not my girlfriend Kayla. Get over it. Get with Jace. He seems more your type. Trust me, my life is rough around the edges. Bye," I stated, hoping she'd get it. School didn't start for another half hour, but my friends and I agreed to meet up early.
Annabeth's POV I put on ripped skinny jeans, a gray t-shirt and a gray and a salmon colored flannel shirt over it, without buttoning it. I paired it with my brown lace-up combat boots with pink fur on the flap, and my owl earrings. I also kept my camp necklace on. I hope Percy did the same. And the rest of my friends.

I also put on some lip gloss and skin color eyeshadow. I put on a light layer of foundation on that was a little darker than my actual skin color. I brushed my eyelashes on the mascara brush once each, and pulled my curls down from their bed bun and let them fall over my shoulders.
