Imagine: Matt is a quiet and lonely guy who spends most of his time hacking into things on the computer and as well taking pictures. You, popular and beautiful, happens to be his partner in your photography class for a project.

HIGHSCHOOL AU (MATT BEING SMART)

You were a kind and rebel girl. Who wasn't a rebel in their high school days? Matt Hargreaves, that's who. He was a computer genius and yet he seemed to get flustered and dumb when it came to talking to girls. Even Matt's best friends were rebels.

Tom was the rock and roll type of guy, Edd never listened when it came to eating a lot of cola even though people told him it would rot his teeth, and Tord, he smoked and was sort of the bad boy type of guy in high school.

Matt was the smart guy in his group of friends and he was only a slight rebel like you. A nerd would be one of the words to describe him. While you didn't really listen to your parents and mostly rebelled against them like any other teenager, Matt did listen to his parents but disobeyed when it came to not hacking into things. Matt was a computer hacker, you were a normal rebel teenager.

But you were kind to people, unlike any other popular students. You always stood up for the people who were hurt and bullied, and chose to help anyone, no matter who they were. Matt was one of the kids who was bullied in his freshman and sophomore years. You managed to keep him and his friends from getting bullied a lot and only talked to him if necessary.

Which brings you to now, a senior in high school, it was the last week of school before graduation, almost completely ready to take on adulthood. That was a complete lie, you still needed to pass one more class in order to graduate and get your diploma. And had other reasons...

Photography class

You were failing it and it was completely stupid, but you needed to graduate high school. Your teacher had given you a project to finish and if you aced it, you would graduate. No one was able to help you since it was literally the last week of school and everyone was done with finals and almost done with school. You were popular, but it was just that no one wanted to help since they were done with everything else and wanted no other work.

Except for one person: Matt

He was one of the top students in photography class and aced it with flying colors. You asked him last week if he could help you with the project. Matt was VERY flustered at first, his cheeks turned scarlet red and he was breathing very heavily. After you calmed him down after like 10 minutes, he agreed to help you and you two basically created a date today after school.

Right now, you were waiting for Matt to show up. You guys were taking the photos in a flower field not far from town and it was almost 6:30, you had agreed to meet Matt around 7:00. Being early wasn't really your thing, but for some reason, you really wanted to make a good impression on Matt. Him being the little nerd he is, you thought he would show up right on time. And he did.

Because this was a Photography project, you had to 'dress appropriately' for the photos. Which you thought was bull, but if it meant passing, you had to do it. You were wearing a pale blue summer romper, the only nice thing in your closet since you didn't really own a lot of nice things and wore the same sweater everyday.
