CHAPTER 16

LOVE IS IN WINTER

"Holy shit Karina. Look at this cute little motherfucker that I found." Karrie said and showed Karina a bird. Not just any bird, this bird was a large for its common size. Karrie and Karina were in their rooms, their rooms looked like some kind of military base because of how dark green it was but every room was designed to be like this.

"Wow I never thought that the great and horrifying leader Karrie would like cute birds like that." Karina sarcastically said with a mocking face to Karrie. Karrie found this annoying so she pinched Karina's cheek.

"Don't remind me of my past thank you very much."

True that Karrie was once a leader, a terrifying one. She used to lead a hundred army with her very own race but she was replaced by her sister who betrayed her.

"Anyway this cute bird was at a dark alley when I found him." Karrie said as she stroked the bird's feathers. Karina tilted her head.

"What were you doing there?" Karina asked curiously.

"You know the fidget spinners that i have? I have this dude that would always upgrade it for me." Karrie said as she put the bird on her bed behind her.

"Hm.. A boy.. Are you perhaps inlove or no?"

"That would be a big no."

"They say the more you deny, the more you like the guy."

Both of them argued but then stopped once they felt the cold air outside. Karrie looked at her window and realized that the bird escaped.

"The bird escaped." Karrie said as she stick her head out of the window. She widened her eyes to see snow. "ITS WINTER!"

Karina rolled her eyes and went to the bathroom.

Odette was on her balcony. The snow fell gracefully everywhere. They reminded Odette of soft feathers' of a bird. Lancelot was outside her room, guarding her properly. Christmas was coming and he knew that he needed to give her something. Something that he was very fond of.

Odette looked at the small christmas tree in a pot. She liked how white it was. But it was missing something.

She looked everywhere in her room, cabinets, bed, closets, corners and bathroom but she couldn't find it. Maybe Lancelot knew where it was?

She knocked om her door as a sign of her calling him. She opened it. "Have you seen my small swan figurine?"

Lancelot covered his mouth to avoid laughing at her. She raised her brow in confusion to why he was trying not to laugh.

"Miss Odette, have you tried checking your head?" He stopped his silly laugh and grabbed the small swan figurine that was on her head the whole time.

She blushed in embarassment and immediately stole it from Lancelot, closing the door. She forgot that she actually put it on her head this early morning.

She put the small swan figurine on the small christmas tree.

She sat on her chair and laid her head down on the table with the small christmas tree in front of her.

"Does he like me?"

Odette said and hoped he didn't hear her but to her dismay, he did. Lancelot knocked on her door as a sign of coming in. He genuinely smiled at her when he came in and Odette turned her attention to him and blushed once again. He slowly grabbed her hand and kissed it.

"I do like you- No, I love you, My beautiful Odette."

They had been together in the mansion for just months but she grew feelings for him. Now that he confessed, she didn't want to hide her feelings anymore.

"I love you too, Lancelot." She smiled with closed eyes.

Both of them hugged each other because it was kinda awkward if they kissed each other instantly. They knew their feelings for each other but they also knew that they don't have to speed things up.

Odette and Lancelot felt so happy.

Lolita and Harley were having a good time chatting with each other. Lolita smiled to his personality. He was flirty but at the same time, a gentleman at heart. They stopped their happy chat when the ground shook for a few seconds. Harley was alarmed when he saw smoke outside Lolita's window.

"Stay here and don't do anything that will harm yourself." He said.

He went out of the 'hospital' and passed by some buildings until he was outside the city itself. He saw a dark entity with three ladies infront of it. He was scared but he didn't want to leave the ladies by themselves.

He felt cold then realized that it was snow. Out of all days, it had to start today. He grunted and started approaching the four of them.

Nana turned the weird dude into a small blue cat and stunned him by her huge paw while Irithel made her crossbow glow, increasing its strength and speed. She fired many times and Layla did too. They were sure that it would knock the dark being but they were wrong. His wings were out as he went forward to them. Nana used her boomerang but it was useless, it would just deflect it. The three backed up and decided to split. The three ran seperately while slowly attacking him but Nana was caught. He grabbed her neck by hand and stabbed her with his sword.

Layla and Irithel cried for her. Nana spit out blood and her eyes closed. They killed Nana with no mercy. Layla angrily activated her ultimate. The dark being didn't expect this and took alot of damage by her, he dropped Nana and her blood was now on the ground. Layla was about to grab her precious friend but she disappeared by a portal.

"Argus, can't you just take her and go back without causing any ruckus?" Another weird creature showed up. He had a staff that was purple. He turned his head to Layla and showed interest at her. "Are you perhaps the daughter of Fedrick?"

Layla was surprised but her expression changed to anger. "So what if i am?" He chuckled as he pointed his staff to Layla. She was suddenly frozen but she wasn't ice blue like other spells, she was solid purple instead.

Irithel panicked because Layla disappeared like how Nana did. Leo was planning to run away since he knew he couldn't take the two of them. The purple creature made a portal but suddenly, Argus was surrounded by fire and got hit by sharp shooting cards.

Harley was too late saving two souls but he could at least save the woman and the tiger. The fire was circling Argus until it hit him. He took a lot of damage from Layla and Harley finished him. He died.

"Seems that you killed my friend here but i barely care about him anyway. My name is Zhask and we may meet again."

Irithel clenched her fists. "What have you done to my friends!"

"Don't worry. They'll be safe but I'm going to interrogate with them for a while." He said and walked into the portal, leaving the body of Argus to disappear into small molecules.

Irithel didn't know what to do.
