"Get ready to land." Anoles said over the com. "I can see the Red Star to the left of us."
I quickly ran to the pit and looked out the window as Anoles piloted to see the ship.
It was much larger than the Rainstorm. But also much more wrecked than our ship was.
We landed on the planet we had agreed to meet on, though I didn't know the name.
Wen held his blaster on his hip as Gor went unarmed. He had his claws to defend himself.
Z put his blaster on his hip and hid the lightsaber he had been training with in the waistband of his pants so that it was hidden.
I put mine on the fabric belt and brushed my hair back with my fingers. It was growing longer as the buzz cut I had gotten was now short hair, and the long hair from the undercut even longer. I would have to trim it next chance I got.
Anoles turned off the ship and patted her shoulder, as Khau shrieked and jumped onto there.
Greenie beeped from alongside us, as Wen opened the door and lowered us down.
We walked towards the ship as their back door opened.
Four humans, a Rodian, and a droid walked on out.
"Ah you must be the Rainstorm Crew. Quincy. Quincy Tatbaieway." The man who was assumed to be the leader grinned and held out his hand. He wore a grey that extended to be like gloves but cut off at the fingers. His long black haired was pulled back into a low ponytail and his wild grass like dark brown bangs falling into his eyes.
"W..." Anoles stepped forward before Wen could finish.
"Anoles Ennala." She shook his hand.
"Nice to meet another Rebel crew going against the Empire."
"Same to you."
"Anyways, this is my Crew. Philippa McOnb, my second in command." He motioned to a darker skinned woman who had a mohawk spiked up and two small beaded braids framing her face. She nodded to us.
"Yuuki Nyapon, our weapons specialist." A man with skin as dark as a starry night and vivid green eyes looked up, as he was trying to retying his calf length, midnight black hair into a bun. The hair kept getting caught in his short extended goatee and mouth as he spat it out.
I wonder how long it took for him to grow it that long.
"Vere La Vanca, our medical expert." He motioned to the Rodian who was shy and hiding behind another woman who was gently stroking her antenna ears.
"And that is Malachi Sumareams, our communications and ship repair expert." The woman signed hello, as I noticed the scars on her neck which I assumed was so she couldn't speak.
"Hello how are you today?" I signed to her, my hands flowing quickly as she interpreted it.
"I am good, thank you." She smiled.
A red droid rolled up and bumped into Quincy, who chuckled. "And of course, our droid, Lucky. "
Greenie beeped and rolled up to Lucky and the two beeped.
Anoles chuckled. "It is nice to meet you all. Wen here is my second in command, and Gor and Zart are our weapons experts. Greenie is our Droid that is now chasing yours, and Khau here is our ship expert." Khau shrieked, and jumped onto Quincy's shoulder.
Quincy looked at the creature confused. "You let a Woskacurry, fix your ship?"
"He is the best of the best." She chuckled. "And this is Mira, our Jedi."
"It is a pleasure to meet you all." Quicky smiled. "I think I got some unopened Mead we gained from the Empire if you would."
"Thank you, but we don't really drink."
"I'll take up a glass." Wen smiled, not wanting to be rude to our perhaps future allies.
Quincy nodded and took Wen to a room in his ship.
"So, a Jedi?" Vere inched forward curiously.
"Yeah." I nodded.
"My parents used to be friends with one. Her name was Jhiana Sperhytt."
"She was my master's master!" I recognized Jhiana's name.
"What a small universe huh?"
"How would you like a tour of our ship?" Philippa offered.
"Sure. I think that would be nice." Anoles nodded and followed her. Greenie and Lucky both chased Khau after them.
Yuuki offered to show Z and Gor their artillery. The two eagerly followed.
"I guess Malachi and I could show you around the ship I guess?" Vere offered.
"Sure, if you would like." I smiled softly and followed them on.
"So how do you know BSL?" Malachi signed to me as we walked down the halls.
"I learned Basic Sign Language from my mute guardian. He was pretty cool and taught me a lot." I signed back.
"That is really cool!" She signed back with enthusiasm. "I lost my voice when I was eight from wounds so I was kinda forced to learn."
"Oh I'm sorry."
"It's ok. I'm ok." She shrugged.
"So here's our pilot pit." Vere opened the door. "We are always updating it so it seems a lot smaller than it actually is right now."
I peeked on in. "It looks cool."
"Yeah. Come on, I'll show you the rest of the ship." She smiled. Malachi nodded and shooed us.
Vere took me to the Medical bay where she did most of her work. "Everyone keeps getting hurt so this is where I usually am."
"I feel it's the same with Anoles. She's always taking care of us, but I try to help."
"So, can I ask a question?" She leaned against the bed in the wall.
"Sure."
"What is it like, being a Jedi? Being hunted every day and never knowing if that day is your last."
"It's complicated." I sighed. "It's like being a Rebel but... During the first few years after the Jedi fell, I was living in fear with Master Vulkri. We lived isolated from most of the others, only going to town for supplies, fending for ourselves. She kept teaching me how to fight with my lightsaber, but we did not use the force for many years." I sat on a chair and sighed.
"You must have been terrified."
"I was. I was a small child. The world collapsed around me. "
"That sounds terrifying."
"It wa...." The ship rattled and jolted, as I fell out of the chair and Vere stumbled.
"What the..."
"Battle stations! We are under attack!" Quincy's voice echoed over their system.
Vere looked at me worried and ran to the pilot's pit.
"What happened?!" I asked.
"We are under attack. Hurry to your ship." He ordered.
I hurried to the landing bay as I spotted Wen jump into the Rainstorm as the two ships were being taken into the Star Destroyer by the tractor beams.
I assumed Philippa and Yuuki were firing at the massive Empire ship as the Red Star was firing from two different cannons.
Calculating the distance from the two ships, I tried to figure out if I could make it, but figured it would be better if I could help from here.
I looked up at the ship, and prepared myself to face what was coming.
