Hayley's P.O.V.

After I let a moment of hesitation and thought fly by me, I answer with one word, looking into Taylor's hurting eyes with my glassy ones. "Both," I explain in a whisper, looking back down in fear. After I hear one slightly jagged breath, my chin is softly pulled up so I'm looking straight into Taylor's eyes.

"Stay with me forever and ever, Hayley Nichole Williams. Help me raise our child, Lacey Winter. Forget about the future and live in the now. Eat way too much and feel fat for days with me. Laugh about nothing and smile about everything. Use your beautiful voice until it runs out and share it with the world. Make funny jokes about my lack of social skills. Beg me to take you to Disney World for the weekend, or on a relaxing trip somewhere nice. Let me hold your hand as we take long walks in the sun," he tells me with a cracking voice and a tear stained, heartbroken face. My heart is officially broken.

"Let me fulfill my promise that I will fix you," he whispers wiping fallen tears away. I have never in my life seen Taylor York so hurt. Not after the years and years I've known him, or in the year or so we've been in this dark place. I slow down my tears and bring my hand to Taylor's face. As he looks up to me, I don't say a word. I just brush away his tears and slowly find my lips mold to his cheek.

"Let me take you somewhere," I whisper into his ear. It isn't in a sexual way at all, either. It's in a soft, sweet way asking to heal only the biggest wounds that there can be. "I'll find someone to watch Lacey and you'll get ready to go out, okay?" I ask of him. I'll do this for no one but my Taylor.

"Hayley, where are you taking me at this time?" Taylor asks me as we walk down the busy street. It's not that awkward of a time, maybe 2:00 in the afternoon.

"Somewhere where I'm hoping I can make you smile a lot, then to another place, and to another, and another," I explain with a small smile. Our fingers are entwined tightly, swinging back and forth in the April air.

"How will you do that?" he asks curiously, looking into my eyes. I don't answer, I just walk into the bakery to the right, leading Taylor along. I don't look at Taylor the whole time when buying a slice of red velvet cake, which is what they're known for. I walk over to the farthest table from the front and set it down, sitting myself down, as does Taylor. "What are you doing?" he asks with a shocked expression.

I stare at the cake for a moment and gulp, looking back up to Taylor who's across from me. What I'm about to do is simple. I pick up my fork and scoop up a little bit of the cake and put it in my mouth slowly, looking back up to Taylor. "Are you serious?" he asks me softly as I swallow it.

"Look Taylor, this is how a fork works. You pick it up, and use it to eat your food," I explain while helping him pick up his fork.

"I think I know that," Taylor responds with a small giggle. "You don't have to do this for me, Hayles,"

"Yes I do. Besides, I want to do more than this for you," I tell him taking another bite. "I'm not eating this whole thing though, so you have to help me,"

"Deal," he says with a smile. It lights up my day for sure, even though this is the end.

After we finish our treat, I pull Taylor along outside and start walking to the park with a smile, successfully clearing my head of everything bad. "Where are we going now?" Taylor asks as I squeeze his hand. I stop walking for a moment, standing on my tippy toes, and kiss his cheek, just to continue walking.

"Anywhere we want," I respond as a couple of people pass us on the sidewalk.

"Why are you doing this, Hayley? Is it because of what I said?" he asks stopping in his tracks as two people approach us. My heart stops when I see one of the girls though, as she was the one who poured coffee all over me a while ago. It looks like she came with a friend this time.

"Hey, you're not dead yet!" She exclaims a little too loudly. Before I can saw anything, she speaks again. "I was hoping after all you've done, someone would've gotten rid of you by now,"

"Excuse me but we have somewhere-" Taylor tries to say, being cut off.

"Nobody asked you," the girl's friend says stepping closer. "Now, Williams, if Elena here is right, you have something to hide," She looks kind, but apparently that isn't the case. She has shoulder length, dark hair and green eyes. She wears shorts and a t shirt, nothing special.

They're backing me into the front of a small shop now, and I have no way of getting out, as Taylor tries to get to me without causing harm. I have a feeling people will hear about this very soon. Soon the friend is pulling on my arm, ripping off the bracelets I use to cover the scars, and staring at my arm that reads FREAK, as Taylor is trying to push them away from me. I'm completely frozen with fear though, and can't move.

"Get off of her!" Taylor yells pulling me to him. I bury my face in his arm, hearing nothing but laughter from the two girls, as my favorite bracelets lay on the dirty ground. As I look back up, Taylor kneels down and picks them up for me, and slides them on my wrist for me, kissing my head softly. "Do you know them?" he asks me softly as they escape the scene, walking me to a bench close by.

"One of them poured coffee all over me that one day. It was the day I woke up to that message on my wall," I explain softly, staring at the ground.

"I'm so sorry," Taylor tells me kissing my head again. I don't say anything though, I just continue to stare to the ground, not acknowledging his presence. I'm so tired of this 'life' I've been living. Nothing goes right, and every time something good happens for a moment, something brings it straight down way too fast."Hayley?"

"Are you dating me because you love me? Or is it because you don't want me dead?" I let slip out in a hushed, cracking voice. Taylor is completely silent when I ask this, but I don't look up at him, because I know it'll hurt to see his reaction to those words.

"Hayley, can I tell you something?" he asks me softly, looking to me. I only know that because I can feel his eyes locked on me as I stare into nothingness. I slowly nod, and look at Taylor, but not into his eyes. He takes my hand gently in his, entwining our fingers, and leads me to the car a short distance away.

Once the doors are shut, he looks at me with tired eyes. "Why would you ask that, Hayles? You mean the world to me, you know that," Taylor asks.

"I can't help but think people only stick with a mess of a person like me because they feel bad for me. I really hate pity," I explain playing with the end of my shirt, eyes low.

"Hayley, I love you no matter how you feel, or what situation you're in. I love you when you're happy, sad, angry, tired, and frustrated. I love you every day no matter what, and I have for a long time. I just didn't realize it until about a year ago," he tells me sweetly. I look to meet his eyes, and as I do, they tell me he is truthful. I'm still not sure I'll live to see them after tonight, though.

The next chapter is officially the last chapter. Then the epilogue will come, which should be a decent length. Thanks for reading!
