Hey guys,
I'm back again, I'm on school holidays so now and that means I will have more time to upload. I thinking of doing 1 chapter a week instead of 1 every few months😂 So in this chapter I'm going to give you a few tips on how you can improve at home.
1. Stretching daily
Okay so I've probably said this before in another chapter but stretching is the best thing you can do, it helps improve flexibility and technique and also decreases risk/harm of any injuries. Stretching every morning when you wake up or every night before you go to bed can lead to you and your dance teachers being able to see and feel how much you've improved in up to 2 weeks. 2.Conditioning 3-4 times a week
Conditioning is a way of strengthening your muscles and body in order to unlock higher potential in dance. I'm pretty sure I have a Conditioning/ workout routine that you can follow along with. I recommend focusing on ankles, thighs and core.
3.foam roll daily
Do this every day as stretching and conditioning this much will lead to your muscles needing to be rolled, it's also good as it gets the lactic acid out of your body so you don't get as sore, foam rollers are cheap and you can buy them for like $10 at Kmart or target.
4. Drink lots of water
As dancers we demand a lot from our bodies so drinking lots of water it can help prevent cramps, injuries etc. We need to put back the fluids into our body so we don't die you know, jk haha
5. Walk through dances in front of a mirror
Doing this daily can help you be able to notice and fix corrections, improve technique and practise what emotions go with what move.
6. Practise being confident
You can truely tell if a dancer is confinement or not through the way they dance. Something I have learnt for my 7 years of dance is that you have to talk stuff into existence. If you want be noticed in class or on stage, express yourself through your movements and be confident about it, no one else can dance the way you do. Just remember that.
