"Cam!" My younger sister Heidi called.

"Mum said she wants you to have lunch." Guinevere, my older sister, busted into my room.

That's when I remembered about my best friend Dakota. She texted me earlier to ask if we could talk, but I told her I was too busy. I figured we could talk at school.

I text her and she seemed upset that I wouldn't take time out of my day to talk to her but, hey, she doesn't know what just happened to me. I mean Ace. Honestly, I think it can hold off for a day.

"Why can't you come? I really need your help Cam." Dakota asked.

"I'm sorry just things are complicated right now. I need time to think."

"Okay, talk to you later."

"Come on," Gwen motioned. I didn't move. She shut the door behind her and sat on my bed beside me. "Are you okay? I'm so sorry about what happened." She said hugging me. Tears stained my eyes. "If you need anything, I'm here for you, I always will be." Gwen whispered.

"Gwen, I'm having a major crisis." I sniffled through the tears.

"I know Cam, I'm so sorry but-"

"It's not about Ace having cancer.. Although that is a major crisis. It's about Ace though."

"Okay, what's up?"

I started to tell her about how Ace has been acting strange and I didn't know why.

"I think you guys need to talk about it then," she said. "It's the only way to know his true feelings towards the fact that you denied liking him-"

"I didn't deny, I never liked him in the first place!" I rose my voice.

"Okay, okay. Whatever." She answered.

"Can you ask mum if I can to Swiss Chalet with Ace?" I might as well, we need to talk.

I called Ace and asked.

"Can we go to Swiss Chalet for lunch? We need to talk." I asked.

"Okay sure I'll meet you at your house?"

"Sounds like a plan."

"Okay,"

"Okay,"

"Okay..?" He repeated for the second time.

"Shut up Ace and get ready."

"Hey! Okay see you soon."

"Mum said yes, as long as you're back by two o'clock. Have fun! Love you Cam!" Gwen shouted.

"Thanks, love you too Gwen!"

I called my best friend of ten years, Dakota and told her that I was super busy. I had said I was sorry about 5 times and she said it was fine. I could tell it wasn't. I put on my new shirt from Garage, my cardigan and my leggings. I grabbed my purse with everything in it and headed out the door.

Ace picked me up and we walked over since it's only a few blocks away. The beautiful sun shone and a cool breeze blew our way. What a nice day. The conversation didn't start easily because I didn't know what to say.

It took a few minutes to start the conversation.

"How are you?" I asked.

"Good... I'm doing well."

"You don't need to lie to me Ace." I remarked. I knew he wasn't telling the truth, I can see right through him.

"Well... I mean, I'm doing okay, I don't know about my mum and Riley. How are you?" He asked. "Are you feeling okay, like dealing with this?"
