I was wrong.

It wasn't anything I had imagined.

Sure, I had an amazing time, I just didn't expect it to turn out the way it did.

When we got home from the store, Ace headed to his place down the street and told me he would be at my house at 7:00. He wanted me to be dressed in fancy clothes and "dolled up" for him.

I knew he was planning something big for me.

I honestly felt a little guilty for not doing anything for him. That's when I got an idea.

While he was planning our "date", I was going to plan something amazing for him.

It took some time to plan out every detail but I did it in just under an hour. By the time I finished planning it, it was already 6:30 p.m.

I was planning for Ace a nice picnic lunch at the park we used to go to together when we were younger.

We were going to have heart shaped sandwiches - my mum used to always cut them into hearts.

Then, my mum always used to make us hold hands and go down the slide together.

Thinking back on it, my mum made us do some pretty weird things. But I guess she knew all along we were going to date.

So, after half an hour of planning more things to do on our date, Ace was at my door.

He had flowers in his hand and I knew it wasn't going to be anything short of perfect.

"Sunflowers," I smiled.

"For you my dear lady," He said without laughing.

I giggled. "Thank you, my dear man." I replied trying my best to keep a serious face.

"So," Ace said closing the door behind me. "I've decided to take you on an old fashioned date."

"An old fashioned date," I pondered about that for a second and continued. "That could be fun."

I quickly ran inside to put the sunflowers in a vase and told my mum were I was going.

We headed over to his house. He walked towards his car and opened my door and helps me in. It was so cute the way he was acting.

As soon as he got in, in the driver's side, he put the keys in and started to back out of the driveway.

"You look absolutely gorgeous tonight Camilla." He smiled taking my hand in his. We drove down town to Main Street. Main Street has bricks instead of pavement. We walked down the street and the water front was very close to where we were.

We left our hands intertwined for a while and just walked around for a while.

"What's your opinion on our relationship right now?" Ace asked me.

"What's my opinion? Are we even dating? I go to bed every night consumed with the thoughts of whether we're dating or not. Sometimes, I feel like picking up the phone at two in the morning and calling you to ask if we're actually dating."

"Why don't you?"

"Why don't I what?"

"Call me at two in the morning."

"Because, I'm afraid you won't know the answer either and I'll be stuck because you'll ask me what I think."

"Oh, okay." He said.

"That doesn't mean that I don't want to date you. I just want to know your opinion, on where we stand."

"I love you Camilla. I really do. And I want this relationship for us. But there are so many things stopping us from having our dream world. It's like we're living in our own world. We haven't faced the reality that I have cancer and nothing that we can say or do can change that. And you, you have school, popularity, a social life. We just have too much on our hands. I don't even know why I'm taking you out tonight. I wanted to treat you with this to get your mind off of school but what's the point if we're not even dating?"
