I ran outside to see some random guy with Gwen, in her car and they were making out. I watched for a couple seconds, and then knocked on the window. They both jumped and when Gwen saw me, she opened the door and glared at me.

"Do you mind?"

"Guinevere who the hell is that?" I asked.

"No one, now leave. We were in the middle of something."

I saw his face and recognized him but I couldn't tell who it was.

I knocked on the window for a second time just as they began to make out again.

"What do you want?" She asked, getting out of her car this time.

"I want to talk to you." I demanded.

She told the guy she would be right back and then got out and yelled at me.

"Cam! What is wrong with you!" She barked.

"Who is that?" I snapped.

"It's no one."

"No one? So you were making out with a stranger, someone who's not important?"

"His name is Owen."

"Owen?" I whispered.

"Yeah, the guy who-"

"Works at the Tim Hortons in the hospital?" I interrupted.

"You know him?" She asked.

"He gave me his number a while back. Gwen, you can't do this."

"Why not?" She asked with her arms folded.

"When did you meet him?" I asked.

"Six months ago."

"Wait, that long ago? Are you two dating?" I wondered.

"Not really. More like 'friends with benefits'." She sighed.

"What?" I whispered.

"He has a girlfriend, who won't do anything with him. And I can't be in a relationship with anyone, because I know I'm just going to lose them. This way I won't become attached and if we 'break up' I won't have anything to mourn over."

"You know he just wants to get in your pants right?" I asked.

"Maybe he already has." Gwen said, with no emotion.

I was speechless.

"We've had this thing going on for a few months now. But you can't tell dad or mum. Or anyone!" She freaked out.

"Oh my gosh," I spoke quietly. "You're spending our family Christmas party with a guy who only wants you for sex, instead of with a family who loves you? And how do you figure that no one is going to find out if you two are making out in your car outside our house?!"

"Look Cam, I'm sorry for not being honest with you. But I need this. Owen needs this. We're both in bad situations right now and this is how we cope okay? Just don't tell anyone." She whispered running back to Owen, who was waiting for her patiently.

"You're just doing this because you miss Jacob right?"

"I don't miss Jacob anymore Cam! I'm over it! You'll understand one day when Ace is dead. This isn't because of Jacob." She sighed.

"Ace isn't going to die Guinevere." I hissed back.

"That's what everyone said about Jacob and look where we are now." She laughed. "Everyone tells you it'll be fine, but it's not."
