I invite Ace over, and five minutes later, there's a knock on my bedroom door.
"Camilla, Ace is here." Luke said.
I turned down my music.
"Tell him to come on in." I said. "Okay, get a grip Cam." I whispered to myself. "I can't break down in front of him."
"Hey Camilla, what's up?"
"Sit here." I say quietly.
"Are you upset? Is something wrong?" He asked.
"Why would you think something's wrong?"
"You look upset, that's all."
"I'm so sorry Ace."
"Why are you sorry? There's no need to be." He said trying to comfort me.
"You can't be in love with me Ace." I said breaking apart our hug. "I'm leaving." I said confessed.
"What do you mean, you're leaving?" He asked.
I just kept my eyes away from Ace's gaze, I was terrified to see his face.
"Are you moving?" He says so shocked. He's probably more shocked than me.
"Yes, to Vermont. I am so sorry Ace. After all we've been through... I have to go. I'm sorry."
"Why?" Ace asked.
"Jenny's job is there, and my dad wants to go with her, I'm sorry."
"I understand." He said quietly, rubbing my shoulder. "I'm just going to miss you so much."

I decided I should go see my mum today. I called her first to see if she was available. She said she was free so I headed over and went up to her place after buzzing in.
When my mum saw me at the door, she was so happy.
"Camilla! I've missed you so much! Come on in!"
I headed into her nice, little apartment. I took a look around the place. It seemed like a two person apartment.
"How are you honey?" She asked grabbing me a glass of water.
"I-I'm good. I guess. Things have been weird. Did dad tell you we're moving to Vermont?" I asked.
"He mentioned it. He asked if I would like to come along so you guys could still visit me, but I decided to stay here. My work and my friends are here, you know." She smiled.
"Oh, okay." I mumbled, looking around the apartment again. "How are you mum? Settling in well?"
"Yes, I have been. This place is really nice."
"So..." I said awkwardly, sipping my water. "You and dad got a divorce."
"We did. I'm sorry sweetie. It just didn't want to work itself out." At this point I was so mad. My mum was lying straight to my face. But I didn't want to ruin anything so I tried to stay calm.
"Look, mum. I'm sorry for how I reacted that day at the hospital. It was just a huge shock to me. I hope everything will be okay between us now." I pleaded for forgiveness.
"No, no, sweetheart. It's not your fault. I knew you weren't going to have a clue on how to react." She sighed. "I get it. I forgive you honey."
"So you have a job now?" I asked, curiously.
"Yeah, I'm a receptionist at the doctor's office down town."
"Oh, that's good. I'm glad."
"How have the kids been? And your father? Have you guys been okay lately?" Mum questioned.
