Matts *POV
"You know that bad for you right?" I heard a girl say from behind me. "Yeah, your point?" I turn around to see Valerie and say. "You shouldn't do drugs, smoke pot or drink, that's bad for you, and your reputation."
I didn't really care so I just walked away. I still hadn't told her about the bet but I wanted to before someone else did. I don't like her but I do.
Valerie's *POV
Matt was just smoking pot. What do I do? Should I tell? That's bad for him and I don't want to date a guy who is like that.
"Hey, Valerie let's talk" Cody, matts friend said once I got to school. "Okay, about?" I responded confused. "Look the only reason Matt took you to that party Saturday was cause he made a bet with me while he was drunk. The bet was who ever could get in your pants 1st gets $100. That's the only reason he asked you out, he got caught up in the moment. Sorry to break it to you, sweetheart."
I could feel tears threatening to poor. I didn't know what to say. My friends were right I shouldn't have got caught up with him. I turned around and ran away. I went to my car and went home.
*1 week later*
"Hey, you need to get up. You haven't left your bedroom since that day. You need fresh air." Marlise says. "No I don't. I should of listened to you. None of this would of happened."
I pick up my phone which I haven't used in like 3 days and saw I had 4 missed calls from Matt. I threw my phone across the room and started crying. Marlise went and picked it up to see why I was crying and then came to comfort me.
"You know maybe he wants to explain. I'm not one to trust him, cause I know who he is. But he called 4 times." She says hugging me. "I don't want to talk to him." I say hugging back "Then don't talk just listen." Marlise responds with a smile.
Matts *POV
I really wanted to explain to her, that I actually do like her. But she's never gonna trust me again. "Dammit I screw up every fucking thing" I yell throwing my phone across the room.
I know my reputation is bad. I've slept with many girls but something's different about her. She's not like those other girls.
"Hey, get up! Time for school" my mom shouts coming in my room. "What the hell happened in here?" She ask noticing my messy room. "Nothing, just leave me alone" I responded harsh yet hurt.
Valerie's *POV
I knew I had to go to back to school. So I got up and got dressed. I wore sweatpants and a baggy shirt. If I was gonna feel like shit, I was sure as hell gonna look like shit.
"Hey, Valerie, wait up!" I heard someone yell behind me. I turned around to see Matt. I turned back around and started to walk away but he grabbed my arm. "Please, listen" he said in a soft tone.
I wanted so bad to just run away and cry but I stayed and listened. "Yes, I did make a bet. But I didn't realize how much I actually liked you. When I asked you out I knew I had to tell you about the bet but I didn't know how. I really actually like you. Can we please try and make this work?" he says in a soft yet firm tone. "I don't know if I can trust you again, I know yo sleep with a lot of girls and you drink and smoke and I just don't want to get hurt again. Look I'll think about but for now leave me alone" I say harsher than expected.
He slowly let go of my arm and walked away. Tonight was the big football game, I had to go. Except Matt is the quarterback.
