Chapter 8:

Matts *POV

I went and got in my truck. I was crying harder and harder with every memory that came to mind with Valerie. Even the ones during our fights. I loved her I really did but I didn't know what to do.

I ending up falling asleep in her driveway. I woke up to the sound of her friend Marlise, knocking on my window. "Hey, I think you should leave. Enough is enough." she said scolding me.

"Uh yeah sorry I was just leaving. But hey Marlise, I'm sorry but you don't know the whole story if you just give me a chance to explain.." I was cut off by Marlise coughing. "Look I'll let you explain, but later okay? meet me at The fan five diner tonight at 7 and I'll let you explain but for now just leave"

With that I left and went home. I got a shower and called Valerie. "Hello?" Valerie said into the phone. "Hi, look I know you don't want to talk but I'm not gonna stop trying, I love you Valerie." I say with a sigh.

"I'm sorry. I know you are planning on explaining to Marlise tonight but please don't. I don't need an explanation. I'm sorry Matt but this isn't gonna work out." she said with a quiet shaky voice. "Valerie,please I know I've screwed up before but this really wasn't my fault this time" I say trying to convince her.

"I'm sorry but no" she said and with that she hung up.

Valerie's *POV

I don't know if I should let him explain. I mean I should but I can't. I can't handle the pain. This is the second time he has hurt me and I just don't want to anymore.

"Marlise..." I say trailing off. "Yes?" she says questioning my voice. "Do-do you think I'm making to much of a big deal out of this? I mean should I listen to him? Should I give him another chance?"

"Well you know what they say, Third times a charm" she said with a giggle which made me laugh. "I think you reacted the way most girls would if they had your past with Matt. But I can tell he really loves you cause of how hard he's trying." Marlise says grinning at me.

So I decided to pay him a visit. I got a shower and got dressed and went to his house. *knock knock* Matt comes to the door tears in his bloodshot red eyes. "You look terrible" I say with a giggle. "Uh yeah sorry" he said not amused.

Matts *POV

What was Valerie doing here? I didn't sleep all night and now she decides to come? "What are you doing here?" I say looking at the ground. "I came to listen. I'm not very good at that am i?" she says with a grin.

God I just want to pull her in an kiss her. I invite her in and tell her everything. She sits and stares at me for a few seconds then says "I should've listened" "It's okay I know why you didn't" I say looking straight at her.

"I'll think about all this okay? But I have to go Cody invited me over to study" she says. My bestfriend invited her over to 'study' yeah I'm sure.

"Okay well I'm goodbye then for now" with that she left and I went back upstairs to sleep.

Around 4 I woke up and I had a text form Layton.

To Matt,

I think Cody is planning something with Valerie. You need to get over here.

I got up and headed straight to his house. When I got there I looked through his bedroom window and there he lay with Valerie right next to him. They were under the covers so I couldn't see anything.

I was really angry. He's already taken 1 girl from me but he was not taking her from me. I went and broke down his front door which caused his alarm system to go off and he came running into the living room with a towel rapped around his waist.

"What the hell?" Cody says with anger. "You're not taking another girl from me Cody. I'm fighting for her" I say approaching him.

Valerie's *POV

I heard the alarm system go off and I got up and put on my clothes and tan into the living room where I saw Cody and Matt fighting. I kept trying to pull them apart but they wouldn't let go of each other.

Before I knew it police showed up and put Matt and Cody in handcuffs. "Who's house is this" the police said gesturing to the house. "It's mine. He broke in to my house so I fought him" Cody said looking at Matt.

They took Cody out of handcuffs while I talked to matt. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT MATT?" I screamed at him. "I'm sorry" he says back. "IM SORRY IS ALL YOU CAN SAY?" I screamed again.

"Ma'am we don't have to take him, we learned the full story and he will be paying for it. Otherwise if you want to press charges we can take him" the police said looking at me. Matt looked at me with hurt in his eyes but I quickly looked away.

"just take him." I said tears threatening to pour. They put him in the car and left. What had I just done? I fell to the ground crying when Marlise pulled up. "C'mon let's go get him" she said helping me up.
