Chapter 17:

Valerie's *POV

"Hey. Um there's something I didn't tell you and it's like really hurting me not telling you....." Marlise said after breakfast.

"Wh-what is it?" I said nervously looking at her. "I think Matt would be better off telling you, so um he will be here soon" she said taking our plates to the sink.

"Marlise, this isn't a game. You can't say something like that and expect me not to ask you what" I said standing up.

"Please don't be angry. He will be here soon to tell you" right when she said that there was a knock at the door.

I went to get it and it was Matt. "Hey. come in" I said gesturing inside.

He walked in and immediately took me upstairs. "What is it matt?" I said kinda scared of the response.

"I-we didn't use protection last night" Matt said pacing back and forth.

"Matt what are you so worried for. I feel fine. It's okay." I said getting in front of him to keep him from pacing.

"No, no it's not okay. I...." He said trailing off. I knew by the look on his face what he was going to say.

"You got a girl pregnant before..didn't you" I said sitting on my bed. "Yeah I did"

"So you have a kid?" I said looking up at him. "No. You see it's kind of a long story and I don't like reliving it" he said with a sad face.

"Tell me."

"This girl was not just a girl to me. She was the love of my life. I never wanted to loose her. When she found out she was pregnant she was really scared. It had been about 2 weeks before she went to the doctor so the baby was developing. On her way home she was so nervous she didn't see that the light had turned red and she kept going..she was hit by an oncoming car and died on impact as well as the baby...." he said beginning to cry.

"Matt..." "wait I'm not done. After that I never thought I could love anyone again or trust anyone so I started with drugs and stealing and jumping from one girl to the next. I was so heart broken but when I met you...i don't know things changed. I found a sense of joy whenever I was with you and I just never want you to get hurt." he said cutting me off.

"Matthew Lee Espinosa I love you and I'm glad you told me that. But you aren't gonna loose me. By the way I didn't know Kate was your girlfriend" I said with tears rolling down my face laying my head on his shoulder.

He looked at me and said "you-you knew kate?" "Yeah...she was my best friend she moved when we were in the 3rd grade. But we always kept in touch....Kate Macon was like a sister to me. She told me all about you and her but never said a name, which I didn't bother to ask either. But by the way she talked I knew y'all loved each other and that was enough"

Matts *POV

She knew Kate. I can't believe this. "So are you going to go check?" I asked nervously.

"Will you go to the doctor with me?" She asked wiping away my tears. "of course." I said with a bright smile.

She got up and got ready and Valerie, Marlise and I went to the doctor. They had done some test and we were all waiting for the result.

Finally the doctor came back into the room. "Well, it looks like you are pregnant. And I am glad you came today instead of in like a week. We can give you some medicine that will stop you from having pains and throwing up." the doctor said handing Valeria a form.

"Just sign it and we will provide them for you" he said handing her the pen. She signed the form and he went to get the pills.

I was a little nervousness but i was happy and Marlise was next to me screaming "YOURE HAVING A BABY"

Once the doctor gave us the pills we left and we both called or mom and dads right away.

Valeries dad wasn't so thrilled but her mom was. Her dad likes me but he's a dad he's protective, plus We're only 18.

Her mom on the other hand was happy to become a grandmother and she loves me to death.

After we got off the phone with them we all went back to the house. "Alright boy. Now that we found out she's pregnant what are you gonna do?"marlise said sitting in-between us on the couch.

"Really?" I said shaking my head laughing. "haha yas BIOTCH yas" Marlise said with excitement.

"I don't know. But Cody just texted me telling me to get home now! So I should probably leave." I said with a chuckle and kissed Valerie good bye.

"What? I don't get a kiss?" Marlise said with a laugh after I stood up. "Well of course." I said bending down kissing her cheek.

"Hey don't get to close to my boyfriend" Valerie said laughing.

"Hah alright bye guys" I said walking out.
