Chapter 14:

Valerie's *POV

I went everywhere. Marlise and I went shopping and got furniture and clothes and food of course.

Finally after about 4 days our house actually looked presentable. Now I had 3 days till the start of school, this was just amazing.

We had went to some of the beaches and we even met some nice people. It was pretty cool.

I couldn't get what Marlise said out of my head though. "Is it really noticeable I think about him a lot?" I asked Marlise who was unpacking the groceries.

"Yes. It is to me at least. I think you should give him a call" she said putting the milk in the fridge. "I can't. I have 3 days before school starts, and I don't need any distractions."

I went up to my room and put in my earbuds. I eventually fell asleep.

*the next morning*

I woke up and went downstairs. "Hey! you slept through dinner last night" Marlise said with laugh. "Yeah I know I'm starving" I said with a grimace.

"Well get dressed an we will go get some breakfast." she said as she walked over to me.

"Okay. where?" I asked before getting up. "There's a cafe down the road called de por vida Café" she replied.

I got up and went and got a quick shower, through on some sweatpants, a white crop too and some black flip flops. I put makeup on and put my hair in a bun an went back downstairs.

"Well don't you look like shit" Marlise said with a laugh. "Hey! Lots of people wear this." I said laughing. "Not your clothes or hair. Your face looks like you've been crying." she said kinda concerned.

"Oh. Um it's nothing, I just put on make up too quickly." I said probably a little to fast. "Valerie I know you. You were crying" she said coming an grabbing my hand dragging me outside.

Marlise's *POV

Why was Valerie crying? Was it matt?

We got to the cafe and ordered. "Are you excited to start school in 1 day" I said with a smile. "Yeah! You?" she said looking up.

"I am. It's gonna be awesome. I'm determined to meet a cute guy" I said laughing. Valerie grimaced at my response. "Uh yeah" she said. "I need some air" she said getting up.

I ran after her but she said she just wanted to be alone. I followed her but I ended up loosing her so I just went shopping then back home.

I didn't like leaving her walking alone but she has her phone and she knows where the house is.

"Hey" I said picking up the house phone. "I'm on the way home. If you wanted to know. Ill be there I about 5 minutes"

"Okay see ya when you get here" with that I hung up.

When she got home she came in the kitchen. "What the hell happened to you?" I said lifting her chin up.

"I fell" she said looking like she didn't even believe it. "Valerie!" I said screaming at her.

"Look I know it's hard for you. But why do you insist on hiding things from me? I know you were crying this morning. You walked out of the cafe because you wanted to be alone. You have a bruised cheek. What the hell is wrong? What happened to my best friend?" I said harsher than expected.

"I'm sorry." was all she could say. With that she got up and went upstairs.

Valerie's *POV

My cheek looked worse then it really was. I couldn't tell her that I saw ashley and got in a fight with her. She would kill me.

I started school tomorrow and I was excited but at the same time I hate the thought of it.

*the next day*

I woke up and did the normal. I got a shower and got out. I put on some black skinny jeans, a white crop top with a ying yang sign on it an some black vans.

I put on my make up and then did my hair. I decided to curl my hair and it turned out really pretty. I had long brown hair so it looked really pretty.

I went downstairs and ate breakfast. When I got done Marlise came down and ate hers.

We left and she didn't say a word the whole ride. When we got there we went our separate ways. Was she really that mad at me?

I had so much on my mind I didn't even notice the brown haired, brown eyed boy in front of me.

I looked up to see.........

So I deleted the other book I was working on cause I wasn't getting enough reads.
