Chapter 12:

Valerie's *POV

It's been a week since prom and I can't stop thinking about it. I mean I won prom queen, I danced with Matt but I ran out.

I don't know why but when the song was over I just ran out. I didn't tell anyone where I was going and quite frankly I didn't know either.

*flashback to prom night*

I pushed pass Cody who was standing at the exit and ran outside. "Shit" I said under my breath. I didn't have a key to the car.

So I decided to just walk home. I was almost home when I felt the presence of another walking behind me.

I sped up knowing I was almost home, safe. "Hey" a familiar deep voice said form behind. I stopped and turned "Hey"

It was Matt. Did he follow me? "You know it's dangerous to walk alone at night. Especially a pretty girl like yourself." he said taking a step into the light.

"Yeah, well I'm fine and this is my house so thanks but bye" I said turning to walk on my porch.

"I'm sorry" I heard him say under his breath. "For what? For breaking my heart not not once but twice. For telling everyone a lie at school about me." I said still facing the door.

"Yeah. For all of that. Im just as heartbroken as you are. When you told me you needed space, I haven't slept in over 2 weeks. I love you and I'll never stop"

I went and opened the front door and said "Goodnight Matt" and walked inside leaving him in the dark.

*flashback over*

But not only was that on my mind, graduation was also in a week. I was nervous but I'm not sure why.

Matts *POV

Graduation was less than a week away and I had no clue what I was going to do. I was going to the University of California.

I was moving a long ways away but all I could think about was Valerie. I didn't know what college she was going to.

I wanted to know so I could try and work this out. I wanted to be with her so bad. But I guess she doesn't feel the same way.

"Hey, um can I ask you a question?" I asked tapping on Valerie's shoulder. "Sure" she said with her beautiful smile.

"God you're beautiful" I thought I said that in my head. "Shit! did I say that out loud?" I asked Valerie who was blushing.

"Uh yeah. and what's your question" she said back. "Um nevermind" I said walking away in embarrassment.

Valerie's *POV

*Graduation day*

As they called each name I got even more nervous. They finally called my name and I walked across the stage.

I got my diploma took a photo and walked off stage. They continued to call names and I just sat there.

Finally after about 2 and a half hours we were all congratulated and were able to leave.

Marlise went home and got all her stuff and I went to my house and got mine. We met at the park with our familys.

We had to leave to get to California. The reason for this was because we have a house down there and we have to be there today.

We said our goodbyes and we drove to the airport. As we boarded our flight I couldn't stop thinking of only one person.

That person was Matthew Lee Espinosa.
