Chapter 15:

Valerie's *POV

I looked up to see Matthew right in front of me. "uh sorry excuse me." I said quickly looking back down.

"It's okay" he said with the biggest smile. Why was he smiling? I basically killed him and he's happy to see me?

"I have to get to class. I guess I'll see you round" I said before walking away.

I got to class and sat down next to this really nice guy. We chatted for about 15 minutes before class started.

He was cool. After class it was about 11:30 so I decided to go ahead and go eat lunch.

I called Marlise to see if she wanted to meet me but she didn't answer. That's really unlike her to not answer my calls.

Oh well I know she's mad so I'll talk to her at home.

As I was walking across the street I saw Marlise and Matt walking together. What was she doing with him?

Did she know he was going here? I started walking behind them just far back enough they wouldn't see me.

They went into a restaurant and sat down. I followed them in and I went to the bathroom.

I had no idea what I was gonna do. I couldn't just leave cause they'd see me.

As I was about to leave the bathroom Marlise walked in.

"Hey" I said. No answer. "I said hey" I said again getting louder. "I heard you. Valerie I saw you follow us here and I'd like to know why"

"Well you can't even say hey so why should i?" I said harsher than i thought. "You followed us here. You obviously don't trust me." she said snapping back.

"Don't start that shit with me! You knew he was going to school here and that's why you wanted me to call and talk to him so bad! Cause you knew! What kind of friend lies about that?" I screamed back.

"I didn't lie about anything. You would've been mad if I told you and don't yell at me" she replied wiping her hands.

"Stay the fuck away from me. You did lie cause you didn't tell me. You knew I still had feelings for him but you didn't tell me" I said crying running out of the bathroom.

Matts *POV

I saw Valerie come running out of the restaurant bathroom crying.

I stood up and ran after her. When I finally caught her I spun her around. "What's wrong? Are you okay?"

"I'm okay. Just leave me alone." she said looking up at me. I grabbed her and hugged her. "I know you're not"

I kissed her forehead and she backed up. "Please tell Marlise I said I'll see her later" she said wiping away the rest of her runny make up.

"Valerie......I-i"

"I know. I love you too matt" she said cutting me off kissing me.

As she began to kiss me it started to rain. I drew back and looked up at the rain as did valerie.

"God I love you" I said looking down at her.

I took Valerie home and Marlise was already there.

She got out and walked in. I hope everything goes well. I know they are pretty pissed at each other right now.

Marlise's *POV

Valerie walked in and sat on the couch. "Where have you been?" I said sitting on the couch next to her.

"None of your business mom." she said with a slight smile.

"Look about today...i never meant to hurt you. I wanted to talk to Matt about..."

"I know he told me. It's okay." she said cutting me off.

I smiled and hugged her. We watched movies the rest of the night. which we hadn't done since like last year.

"I'm glad we're talking again. I hate a quiet house" she said with a laugh. "Me too girl me too"
