Chapter 10:

Valerie's *POV

I got home and went straight to bed. I told Matt I forgave him and then all that stuff happened.

But I'm still optimistic. I mean I love him but I still don't know about trusting him. Just cause I forgave doesn't mean I trust him.

"I still need time on that and I think I need to tell him" I told Marlise over the phone. "I understand, I would call him and let him know easily" she said in reply.

We hung up and I called Matt. "Hey I need to tell you something" I said in almost a squeak. "O-okay" he said stuttering scared to hear my response.

"Well you see, I know I forgave you and I really do love you but I-I..." i said being cut off by Matt. "I know, you don't think you can trust me" he said kinda whispering.

"Yeah, I just need more time" I said back. "YOU NEED MORE TIME? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! YOU HAD LIKE A WHOLE MONTH. I CANT EVEN BREATHE WITHOUT CRYING NOW CAUSE IM ALWAYS THINKING OF YOU AND NOW YOU NEED MORE TIME" he said screaming into the phone his voice cracking.

"I-I'm sorry" I replied having no clue how to respond. He didn't reply he just hung up. I'm not sure what that meant.

Matts *POV

She needs more time to trust me? I understand trust is easy to break but takes forever to rebuild but I just don't get it.

I guess me and Valerie can just be friends until her trust rebuilds. I hope that's soon.

"Hey man" Cody said walking in my room. "hey" I said staring at the blank ceiling.

"Marlise told me what happened about the whole trust thing and you yelling at Valerie" he said then paused and looked at me. "Are you bipolar or something? You were fine one minute then you weren't?"

I couldn't help but laugh at him asking if I was bipolar. "Ha I guess I am. But I didn't mean to yell I was just upset." I said finally looking over at him.

"Well on the bright side we're seniors and the year is almost over" he said with excitement. "aha yeah man"

Valerie's *POV

I called Marlise and we talked for hours about Matt and school and college.

Senior year was almost over and I was going to the University of California and so was she. (a/n is that even a college😂)

I had an amazing year even through all the Matt stuff. It was my first year and it was actually pretty good.
