"Good." Rori stated.
I raised an eyebrow at her. "W-what?"
"He deserves to be dead. He cheated on his wife." She smiled. "If it was me he cheated on, I would have killed him myself."
I was in shock. I opened my mouth to say something but didn't know what to say.
"Sorry, maybe that was to abrupt." She looked down, seeming embarrassed and shy all of a sudden.
"No, it's fine. I just, wouldn't," I paused. "I wouldn't kill him. Mom said that she forgave him, that they made up."
Rori frowned. "I don't know about that. I don't think one wife can just say, 'Oh, it's fine that you had sex with someone else, just don't do it again.'"
I shrugged. "My mom just wanted everyone to be happy."
Rori frowned. "Well, I bet she, herself, was never very happy then."
"She seemed to be." I frowned. I missed her so much already. "But some days, after Dad died, she just didn't seem like she was 'up to it.' Like she almost wanted to be sad."
"Oh. Well," Rori's face brightened, "enough depressing talk. Let's get you settled into camp."
I hurried over to my stuff and began pulling my tent out of my bag. Rori helped me set it up and then I just put my stuff inside. Secretly, I hoped to not be at this military base for very long. Just long enough to properly develop my powers. Then, I would fight. Maybe. It all depended on what tomorrow was like.
