First, the fire. Orange, firework like flames spilling out of my Grandma's apartment. I saw her cat first, and then the ashes. She burned as fast as a match. I stood there in absolute horror before running to help. And then my feet were off the ground. I was flying. Literally flying.
And I ran into the glass wall. My head spinning, I could slightly make out Jordan, but then, everything faded into the next scene.
I stood in the middle of the stage, people everywhere staring at me. "Just picture them all naked." I remember my mom telling me whenever I had stage fright. I tried to smile at the crowd, but suddenly they gasped. I looked down at my hands only to see empty air. I had become invisible.
Then, I entered the middle of a crowded bus station. A little kid walked across train tracks, as the train whistle sounded nearby. It was close. The kid tripped. His foot got stuck in the railing, and the train grew nearer. His eyes were like saucers with fear. I ran. I tried to get his foot unstuck but I couldn't. Then, everything went black.
Slowly, my vision came back and I saw Mrs. Lifonde standing in front of me, hand on her hip. "Well, well, well. Looks like we've got a new trainee."
I gulped. "I'm sorry. I didn't even know. It's just," I gasped as cold metal clanged shut, gripping my wrists tight. I felt like screaming, crying out, this was not fair. I looked to Jordan. He looked away. I gulped.
"Follow me, Em. Or you'll have much to regret," a voice boomed behind me.
