All day I debated telling Jordan I couldn't meet up, but, in the end, his adorable smile won me over. We met up again and talked some more about the club. He had read my book and we had come up with a good superhero list.
"Hey, Saturday do you want to meet at the SACG? I wanted to run our list over with them and see if we can meet some of them."
I shrugged. "I will ask my mom and then text you, okay?"
He smiled. "That sounds great! I am so glad that you wanted to help me. Maybe then we can also go to the STC," Jordan explained with a huge, lopsided grin. I was glad that I made him so happy.
"STC?" I asked. I had never heard of such a place.
He laughed, "Oh, they're the Superhuman Training Corporation, that basically test you to see if you have abilities and stuff." He shrugged. "Most kids get tested before entering kindergarten, but you can get tested later on, too."
"Cool. What do they do, though, if you have powers?" I asked, semi-concerned. I mean, I didn't think I had powers, but thinking back to how I have been feeling different, maybe it was 'late on-set.'
"Oh," he wiggled his eyebrows, "Are you concerned?"
I shook my head, "No..."
He laughed it off. "I was only kidding. All that happens is they send you to the SACG to complete schooling."
"Makes sense," I smiled, playing it cool. I didn't think I had powers, but I was concerned about the change in my body that happened lately. If it was powers... Well, I wouldn't worry. I had to take life one day at a time. It was Thursday, I had two days to mentally prepare myself.
