A gasp escaped my lips and then I sighed into the kiss. The savory sweet scent of his lips on mine and the tender way his hand cupped my back was forever imprinted in my mind. Finally, I pulled back for some air. He did too, letting go of my back. I already missed the feel of his hands.
"I'm sorry, Em. That was innapropriate." I could feel his embarrassment as much as my own.
I didn't know what to say, so I said the first thing that came to my mind. "I actually liked it." After the words popped out of my mouth, I inwardly cringed and started kicking myself. What the heck was I thinking?
"Me too." Jordan sighed. He then grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the door. "We should go back, it is almost two and then at three we have testing," he opened the closet door and we shuffled out.
I nodded, as mt eyes adjusted to the light. "Yeah, let's go!"
Jordan looked at me and smiled. "Yeah, girlfriend."
I blushed and playfully leaned into him as we walked towards our interviewing room.
Jordan laughed and pushed me back. "Hey! Didn't your mom ever tell you not to push a girl?" I asked.
He just laughed. "Didn't your mom ever tell you not to kiss a boy in a dark closet?"
I giggled, "You got me there."
"Oh you silly goose. Of course I did. That's what boyfriends are for." Jordan explained.
I huffed, acting mad. "Jerk."
"Oh no, baby." He faked concern. "I didn't mean to upset you, here, let me buy you some chocolate."
"Chocolate? And a teddy bear, too?" I joked.
"The real deal," he laughed as we walked into the room. Our interviewer was already there. Justin opened his notebook to his questions page. We sat down across from the man whose nametag read: Mr. Jan
Justin rattled off questions about different types of powers and how to identify while I feigned attention. Then, Mr. Jan said something that spiked my attention.
"Sometimes traumatic events in one's life can induce superpowers. For instance, the death of a loved one, or a first kiss."
