"A Newsfly?" I hadn't remembered that being one of my job choices.
He laughed, his round belly looked nicely curved, like it could pop out of his shirt at any second. "You will work over at the Ink. Delivering their mail updates and taking message."
"Oh, really?" I smiled. "Can I use my Abilities?"
He nodded. "That's why this job is fit for you. You can fly. But, you're also going to be a Spy. Once every week, you will have a set region of tents to watch. Closely. It is important to squelch all and any rumors about escape. For the people's safety."
"How will I be properly trained to fly?" I asked, deep in thought.
"We have camps. You will report to the building next to the Pot every morning for the next two weeks. You will learn that way." The Head told me. I smiled.
"Thank you!"
He frowned. "Don't thank me for long. This job is one of the hardest. The most taxing on your body. Yes, you're strong, but this job may hurt you."
I shrugged. "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
The Head frowned. "It doesn't often work like that, Emily. But, I am sure you'll be fine."
"Okay." I said.
"You are dismissed now. Dinner is in half an hour." He told me.
I turned and walked out, clutching my training certificate and job employment paper in my hands. A smile was plastered on my face. I could learn about my powers now without having to be in the Military. But, maybe I would still end up there. I could now only hope that was not the case. Tomorrow would tell me for sure.
