"First, we will start this off with a screening. Basically, this is a body scan to see if there are any internal evolutions that could cause superhuman abilities." Mrs. Lifonde smiled at Jordan and I, her glasses perched on the tip of nose.
Jordan nodded and stepped into the testing cube. It was a square room with glass walls. I followed him into the room, and our bodies were panned over with large metal trackers. I was nervous and tried desperately to not show it. I didn't think I had superhuman abilities, but like I didn't think that I was normal either.
"Well, we are done with the screening. Both of you showed up negative. That means that you have no superhuman abilities visible through your body. This is a good sign." I smiled, wide. And huge. Like my whole face lit up. "But remember, just because there aren't visible features of abilities on you doesn't mean that you don't have them." I gulped. He looked at me. "And you know what we do with people that have abilities. Training for a life in the military, or death."
I nodded.
Jordan laughed. "Oh, I'm sure we won't have that issue," he smiled and patted my back. "Why don't I go first on the Testing?"
I nodded. I didn't trust myself to speak, so I just walked out of the glass room.
"Okay," Mrs. Lifonde smiled, "first off, you will basically be in a virtual reality showing three examples of times that could produce fear which could produce Abilities. Then, three scenes producing anxiety, love, and other things like that. This is to see if you have Abilities and to find the trigger." Jordan nodded.
"Let's do this!" He smiled, winking at me.
Mrs. Lifonde walked out of the glass room and into a closet. Jordan just frantically moved around kicking the air and other stuff. It was kind of funny actually because he just looked so weird, but then I remembered he was being forced into reacting like this and I got scared again. For myself.
Soon, Mrs. Lifonde came out of the closet and Jordan stopped going crazy. "You're negative. All clear." She smiled at him, then turned to me. Her smile was still on her face, but her eyes were now ice cold. "Your turn."
