[YOONGI'S POV]

I am a crazy bastard.

Those words... why did my mouth spit them out without me approving it? Why can't I forget the look in her eyes the moment she heard it from me?

'Cause yes, I know; she was terribly hurt.

I rotated the shower's handle to its extent to wake up my tired self in reality.

Why am I doing this to her? Why do I keep on hurting her? Can't we just go back to the old times like we used before? Me, as her older brother and she, as my younger sister?

2010

"Soon, you're going to debut as a group. Make sure to cut your ties to the people you know you can't leave," our soon-to-be manager told us. "Little by little."

"What do you mean, manager-nim? Like, the people we are closed to?" Jungkook asked.

"Manager, how can we do that?" asked Taehyung. "I love my friends so much."

"That's cruel." Hoseok remarked. "My special someone is the reason why I reached this far."

"How could you expect us to do that? Is that really required?" Jimin queried.

"You're kidding, aren't you?" Namjoon whispered.

"Are we supposed to laugh now?" Jin-hyung added.

I covered my face with my two palms and think carefully. This is not supposed to happen, right? Just what kind of bullshit is this?

"This is not a time for joke," our manager replied. "This is not supposed to be a drama as well. I only said 'cut your ties' not 'break up.' Don't fool me. I know you don't have girlfriends tho. All I want is your focus. Your whole attention. You cannot give yourself if your time divides to anyone or anything! I need your mind, heart and soul in it to serve the world!" he yelled. "Few years from now, you're going to debut. You will be far away with your family, friends and other people who became so closed to you. You're going to live in a dorm, treat one another as brothers, and work 'till your bones become silver!"

"In short, we're going to spend our lives to earn money," I told him.

"No, that isn't the term. You are going to spend your lives to save people."

Then, that's it.

We attend the practice after class hours. We prepare songs, invent some dance moves, read books and watch movies together like we are brothers in blood.

While I am so happy following my dream, I am so sad leaving Shin behind.

I still remember when we were younger.

"What's your dream?" she asked me.

"I want to be a firefighter. You?"

"I want to be writer."

After 1 year.

"What's your dream?" she asked again.

"I want to be a basketball player. You?"

"I really want to be a writer."

After 1 year.

"What's your dream?" she asked.

"This time, I want to be a musician. You?"

"I will be a writer."

I wiped myself with a towel and wore my extra clothes and went out.

"Ya! What took you so long?!" my team mate asked. "Did you just do something erotic?"

"What do you think of me? I'm not like you."

Then he kicked my butt out.
