❝IN WHICH, IT IS A COLD DECEMBER IN LONDON, AND SNOW ISN'T THE ONLY THING THAT'S FALLING. HE'S FALLING FOR HER AS WELL.❞
Will Delilah Fitch be nothing more than a dance to remember?
Lark Lane had betrayed him that evening, by not giving him Delilah Fitch.
His head dropped down, and he stared at the dirty floor of the bus.
"Love? You alright?"
He whipped his head up and looked at Mrs.Conley.
"I'm fine, Mrs. Conley. How are you?"
"Scraping by." She smiled with her tiny teeth. "It's a tough holiday, this one. I'm a little short on money, and I don't think I can get my grandson that toy car he wanted for Christmas."
Parker nodded understandingly. And being the people pleaser that he was, he went the extra mile and asked her, "how much more do you need? I can lend you some money."
"Oh no, you silly thing. You work very hard to save up money. Boys your age are always clubbing, and smoking and drinking off their parents money." She extended a wrinkled hand to pat his arm. "But look at you, working as a conductor in a bus."
He smiled, his heart wanted by her words. "It's worth it. I get to meet such lovely people."
Like Delilah.
(delilah, delilah, delilah)
His tongue involuntarily rolled out her name about twenty times that day, right from the morning, till he stepped foot into the bus for his evening shift.
She was constantly the sole focus of his thoughts.
She had more of an effect on him now, than she did when they were within a two metre radius every single day in school.
And he wanted to punch himself for never talking to her in school.
What was he thinking, disregarding a girl like Delilah Fitch?
Girls like her, seldom graced your existence. And when they did, you had to tightly clutch onto them, and never let them go.
