❝IN WHICH, IT IS A COLD DECEMBER IN LONDON, AND SNOW ISN'T THE ONLY THING THAT'S FALLING. HE'S FALLING FOR HER AS WELL.❞
Will Delilah Fitch be nothing more than a dance to remember?
❝THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS FRIGHTFUL.❞ ____________________________
(it felt like an eternity later, when delilah finally pulled back)
She sniffed once, and Parker was glad to see that her tears had vanished. Almost as if he was all she needed.
Parker brought his hand up to cup her cheek, and she instinctively leaned into his touch.
"I'm not going to skip another day, okay?" he said, lowly, making sure only she could hear.
She nodded slightly, and he removed his hand from her cheek.
She brushed against him and took her seat. And for the first time, Parker sidled in beside her.
She sat like a motionless doll, and then slowly, she lifted a trembling finger to touch her wound.
"How did it happen?" Parker asked, his face set straight ahead. He couldn't even bring himself to look at her wound.
"She was looking at me, as I looked at myself in the mirror." Delilah began. "She was going through her sixth pack that day, and suddenly she stepped forward and - and she - " Delilah broke off her, and sucked in at the air, bringing up her hand to her chest.
Parker immediately put his hand around her small frame and pulled her close, until her breath was fanning over his face.
"She started screaming all this stuff about how she once looked like me, until he came along and ruined her. She - she said that beautiful things are bound to get ugly at some point. And that she might as well start now, and thats when she - "
"It's okay," Parker finally said. He couldn't put himself through the torture of hearing it all. "It's alright. You'll be fine."
He kept repeating those three statements until he could feel her breathing slow down. She leaned her head on his shoulders, and with his words as a lullaby, her eyes fluttered shut.
She slept all the way to Lambroke, and Parker didn't oppose it, because he knew that Delilah Fitch was tired.

o I've finished writing this story, and this is the first time that I'm actually very sad about finishing a book.
this was one of my most easiest books to write and I absolutely loved writing it. sigh.
all good things come to an end anyway.
hope you're all enjoying this book, and also, take note of some of the tiny details thrown around here and there. it sorta makes sense in the end. ;)
