Chapter 4

I finally got finished with my shift on guard duty so I desired to head home and make sure everything is ready for babysitting. I looked at my list of things needed for babysitting.
"Food, check, Games, check, make sure nothing can harm the kids, double check, potions looked away in the cellar, check. No pointy objects in reach, check. *sigh* everything seems in order." I said as I heard a knock at the door. "That must be Laurence.." I said as I opened the door and behold pretty boy himself was standing outside. He wasn't in his normal guard attire. "Hey pretty boy.."
"Hey hot head." He smirked.
"Come in I have some muffins and chicha on the table."
"Chicha?"
"A liquid version of arroz con leche, rice milk, with condensed milk, and cinnamon."
"Hmm. Ok?"
"Trust me it's amazing!"
"Alright."
I then heard a knock at the door. "Hey (y/n) thanks again for babysitting the kids. We should pick them up 3 hours after sunset."
"No problem, have fun!" I smiled as the kids walked inside. "Ok so there is some sweets on the table, I have some games and toys if you want to play a game, and some books if you want to read stories. Oh and I have installed a small park outside."
"There's a park!" Nicolette~chan squealed.
"Ok!" I said as The three followed me outside to the small park I made. I watched the three as they played on the slide and swing set. Laurence was pushing Nicolette~chan on the swings.

Flashback:
Your 9 years old looking out your window watching the little kids play outside.
"Father why can't I go outside?"
"You are of royal blood you shouldn't be fooling around with the commoners. You should be studying as learning about trade so when you inherit the kingdom you will become a great leader."
"But I'm lonely.."
"You have your sisters to hangout with."
"It's not the same plus the oldest of my younger sisters is 4 years younger than me and we have nothing in common. Can't I have one friend?"
"I already told you! You are not to hang out with those hooligans and that is final!"

I continued to watch the kids, and Laurence even though he may be qualified to be called a kid, till they tire out and we walk inside it's getting late and we all sit on the couch.
"Y/n can you tell us a story?" Dimitri asks.
"I don't know.. um Laur-"
"Please!" The siblings plead.
"Ok. Once upon a time. In a far way kingdom a princess lived with her father, mother and 4 sisters. The princess had many powers and her father knew this and kept her hidden from the outside world 'for if someone found her they would try to use her powers for themselves' he thought so he locked the princess in her room. The princess longed to go outside but her father forbade it saying that the world was dangerous and not suited for a young princess like herself. One day when the princess was 18 her kingdom was at war with a neighboring kingdom. The king having no choice had to betroth the princesses the son of the other king in able to gain peace, but the princess couldn't stand this. She didn't want to be given away to a man she has never known or cared about. She wanted to marry for love. So she had a plan to run away. During the night she disguised herself and ran away to a far away land where she went undercover. She protected a beautiful kind lord along side many friends. One of which the princess fell madly in love with but she was unsure.. for she had a secret and if she told the secret to him she thought he wouldn't accept her. For he was human.. a mortal and she was not. She was a halfbreed unlike most.. And the one thing she feared the most was herself... She knew she had the power to give him immortality... but only to those who were still living.." I paused for a second and noticed Nicolette and Dimitri were fast asleep and Laurence was following them. I then heard a knock the door and there Daunte was to pick up the kids. I quietly carried them both to him and he smiled as he left. I looked at the couch and saw Laurence was fast asleep. So I used Magic's to help bring him to a room so he could stay the night and helped tucked him in bed. I shaked my head as I walked to my room and got changed into a (f/c) night gown. I went to check on Laurence to make sure he was ok. 'God I feel like his mother' I thought as I walked over to him. "Goodnight pretty boy" I whispered as I was about to walk away. As I heard a muffled voice.
"Huh?" I walked over to his bedside and he grabbed my arm and pulled me next to him and held me close. I could feel my face heat up as I drifted to sleep.
