Chapter 25:

Laurence's POV:
I woke up with this huge pain moving through my body I felt week. (Y/n) was still asleep and I didn't want to wake her. I tried to get up and the second I managed to walk two steps on my own I fell back down on to the floor.

"Damn it... *wince*"
"Wha-..... Oh my!! LAURENCE!!!" (Y/n) yelled as she tried to help me up back into bed.
"I'm fine really.. *Gasp*" I felt a huge pain rush through my legs.
"NO YOUR NOT!! I knew it was a bad idea I didn't want you to get hurt!" She said as she laid me in bed.. "You'll need to stay here I will get some food... Please don't move around that much it will only make the pain worse."

She said and her eyes were full of guilt. I wanted to hold her hand and tell her I'm fine but with each movement I could feel my bones and body deteriorating and then felt as if they were being rebuilt bit by bit. She then walked outside the door and came back what felt like a few hours later.
"Hey.... I brought some food... and tea.. along with some pain killers it should help a bit..." she said as she helped me sit up in bed and placed a pillow behind my back.
"Ahhh..!"
"I'm sorry!"
"It..it's ok just hurts a bit.." I said as she spoon fed me some eggs like a child since I could barely move my arms..
"A bit!? The look on your face says otherwise... Here I brought some painkillers." She said as she helped me with the painkillers. "Ok... now I need you to get some sleep..."she said as she kissed my head as a bug all horn was heard. "what is it now...! Here I'll go check what's going on if you need anything this is a communication device" she said handing me a necklace. "I have one too so if you need anything just call and I'll get back here as soon as possible!" She said as she ran out and grabbed her knight armor. 'Please be back soon...' I thought as I fell asleep.

(Y/n)'s POV:
I put on the knight armor in the closet bathroom outside of the room then ran towards the front door Then towards the gate.. "GAURDS!!" I yelled as 8 flew to my side. "Hold them at the gate, I will confront them then search their carriages for weapons and make sure you put the weapons in a chest and bring it to the weapons room. When they leave we will give their weapons back and send 2 guards to guard my room!" I said as 1 of them went to get some more guards as two flew to my room. The carriages stopped in-front of the gate and out came about 14 people, 4 of which were children two of them ran towards me.
"(Y/n)!"
"Nicolette, Dimitri?" I said as they gave me a hug and the guards parted making two rows on either side of me.
"Where have you been!!!" Aphmau yelled as she gave me a hug.
"I didn't know you were a guard for this place too!" Daunte said and Zoey face palmed. "What?" And zoey walked up to me.
"Let me introduce you to Princess (Y/n) (L/n), the future queen of Emis... My condolences for the passing of your father." Zoey said as I smiled weekly as some of the people nodded cause they knew while others starred at me wide eyed.
"It's ok... And forget the formalities, even with me being royalty I am still the same (Y/n)."
"And Laurence where is he?" Garroth asked.
"He is in my room, he has a fever and is very week, and is trying to get some rest so I would advise you to not see him till further notice..." I said and Zoey nodded. Then said through telepathy.
'So it's done?'
'Yes...'
'Understood I will try my best to keep them away but as for Cadenza you may need to tell her..'
'True.. she is his sister.'
"Well why don't we all go inside but please don't go to the 5th floor as we want to make sure Laurence gets better."
"May I please talk to you in private Cadenza said."
"Yes you may, as for the rest of you make yourselves at home but please try not to break anything..." I said as Zoey walked with me and Cadenza to the second floor in an empty bedroom.
"I don't know that much on Emthian bloodlines but I know my brother isn't sick.."
"Yes he isn't... but I can't have anyone go up there, it will only cause him more pain.." I said looking down.
"What happened." Cadenza said.
"I'm the next person to the throne of Emis... as such I need a partner who is also an Emthian or else the kingdom will go into chaos."
"That I know but.."
"I had to turn him..." I said looking down as Zoey put a hand on my shoulder.
"What!? Did he want this?!" Cadenza said.
"Yes..."
"I see... and the transformation.."
"It takes 5 days.. it gets worse on the second day then it starts to subside."
"What day is he on.."
"The first..."
"You got to be kidding..."
"No.. I'm not.."
"Can I see him.." she asked and I nodded.
"Zoey can you.."
"Don't worry I'll be down stairs if you need me."
"Thank you." I said as I led Cadenza up to my room. We walked inside and Laurence was asleep we both sat on a chair since there is a table in your room. He woke up five minutes later and I walked up to him and put my hand on his head.
"Hey how are you feeling.." I whispered as sadness came to my eyes.
"I have been better..." he managed to say as Cadenza walked over.
"Hey brother..." she said holding his hand. "She told me..." she said trying to smile but she was pained with looking at the brother she loved so much hurt.. "It's going to be ok..."
"I know... I'm not dying.. I think." He laughed a little the  he gasped as he felt a pain on his side. I held his other hand try to assure him it will be over soon, just 5 more days and you won't feel pain..  after a while Cadenza had to go and i told a guard to escort them to their rooms. I wasn't planning on leaving him.. not in this state. I asked a maid to bring up some food when it was time for us to eat. 'I'm sorry my love...'
