Chapter 6

'He must think I'm a monster... they all must. And they are looking for me so that they could kill me..' I thought as I started to whimper as I heard footsteps. I looked around and I saw the armor of a shadow knight I couldn't see his face. I backed up not noticing there was a hole and I fell in. As I fell I felt a sharp pain in my front left leg.  I winced as I tried to move it to walk I heard it snap. I howled in distress as I felt he sharp pain. Tears rolling down my fur. As I heard something and a male voice screaming as he fell down. 'Shadow knight!' I slowly backed up but I moved my left leg a bit and I felt a ragging pain causing me to whimpered a bit. As the man looked back the first thing I saw was his red glowing eyes then I looked at his other features.. 'Laurence..' my eyes widened.. this is why he got so upset.

Flashback:
"Hey didn't know you were the big business type!" The brunette boy says.
"Hey pretty boy. And yep a girl needs to make a living some how."
"You planning to buy a peace of land in Phoenix Drop?"
"Yes actually! I thought about it and it would be nice to settle down somewhere."
"So then what are you planning to do as your main job?"
"I don't know, maybe I will join the guards, you guys obviously need help." I smirked.
"Hey I was playing easy on you yesterday, I wouldn't want a beautiful girl like you to get hurt." He gave me a devilish grin as I blushed.
"Ya right, besides if a shadow demon comes I can help fend them off."
"Shadow demon?"
"Shadow knights.. I call them that because of the... monsters they are... they don't care who they kill or why they just do it to please their blood lust.." I said and he seamed to tense Up a bit.
"Heh... you know not all of the shadow knights kill on their will.. some of them fight back.." he said and I saw him turn one of his hands into a fist.. did I say something wrong.
"Maybe, but sadly I don't share your optimism." I said and looked down at my feet.
"Well maybe you should try... I got to go." He said as he walked off looking rather upset. '

I whimpered as he walked toward me, 'He was right, maybe the only demon here is me...' I thought, then I hit a wall, 'no way I'm digging out of this one.' As I then felt something warm pick me up. I opened my eyes and saw he was looking at me with a hint of sadness. I then heard more footsteps.
"Let Me guess the hole Magically appeared and you fell in." Garroth said sarcastically.
"Ha ha, very funny now help me out will ya."
"Geez Ok man, chill out you act like you just seen the.... you know what never mind.." Garroth said as Laurence glared at him. The a rope was let down and Laurence held on. I whimpered as I felt my leg move a bit.
"Hey it's ok I'll get someone to help you." I tilted my head a bit as we were pulled up. Garroth, a white haired male and a blue haired female were holding on to the other end of the rope as the Laurence changed from his shadow knight self back to his normal self. "Can you get a medic?" He asked the white haired male As they ran back to Phoenix Drop.  As then a white haired elf walked up to me.
"Hmm.. this may take some time give me 3 days." She said as she took me from Laurence's arms and brought me to a cottage.
"Hello dragon born." She said as my eyes widen. 'How did she know' I thought.
"I know a lot of things I am over 1,000 years old." My eyes widened. " please transform it will make the process of healing faster. I nodded then closed my eyes and transformed into my halfbreed Emthian form. My (f/c) 1st class dragon wings showed and my wolf ears and tail were still present. I clutched my left arm.
"I'm a monster..." I said looking at my wings and tail.
"No you are not. You defended the child and fought against your own kind.. You are a true blooded warrior."
"But you saw what I did.. I burned a man alive, I shot two others into outer space, and the other one is in a coma.."
"You did what you thought was right.."
"I don't know if I thought of it as right. I just snapped and did it.."
"So you have imprinted?" I blushed. "Do tell." She smirked.
"The door is closed right?" I asked and she nodded.. "it kinda was a accident, don't get me wrong I do like him, but it's Laurence.." I said as she laughed a bit.
"What is so funny?"
"Oh nothing, I just need to pay KC 10 gold."
"Huh?"
"Oh just a little bet we made."
"Bet!?"
"I thought that you would go for Garroth she thought you would go for Laurence, and I was wrong."
"What, why, when... MY GAWDSH...." I said getting all flustered. As then I heard someone knock on the door. I turned back into my wolf form.
"How is she doing?" I heard Laurence ask.
"She is fine just a bit jumpy!" She looked back and smirked.
'I will kill you...' I glared at her.
'No you won't,' she continued smirking.
"I'm not going to ask." He said looking at both of us.
"Kawaii Chan came as quickly as she could, Hey Laurence~Kun"
"Um, hi any way I must get going... She might still be out there in the woods."
"Oh she is some were.." zoey smirked and I growled, KC just giggled.
"Did something happened between you three?"
"Nope!" The two said and I barked.
"Ok... you guys are weird.." he mumbled as he walked off.
"Ok KC come in quick!!" Zoey said as she pulled KC in and locked the door. I looked skeptically at zoey. 'It's ok she knows.' I then turned into my halfbreed form.
"(Y/n)~sama!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, sooo much for saving Nicolette~tan!!" She said hugging me.
"Um your welcome.. I couldn't just let them hurt her. All she wanted to do Is be their friend..." I said hugging her back.
"Now Zoey~San.." she said and zoey rolled her eyes and gave her the money. "Kawaii~chan knew it!!!! MY SHIP!!!" I held my ears. "Oh, sorry (y/n)~sama!" She giggled. As zoey gave me some potion to help heal my arm faster.
"It's ok just keep the fangirling to a minimum and we'll be good.."
"Well Kawaii~Chan Must get going Nicolette and Dimitri~Kun must be getting hungry. Bye zoey~San, bye (Y/n)~sama!"
"Bye KC!" We both said as I turned back into a wolf.
"Sadly you'll have to stay in that form I need to go to the market and get more supplies for the medicine you Ok with staying here?" I nodded as zoey walked out the door.
As she left I curled up and tried to relax, it isn't the first time I've slept in my wolf form so I should be ok with sleeping. As was about to fall asleep I heard a knock at the door and then I saw the door open. My first instinct is that it was a robber and I got on all fours and stayed alert when the door fully opened I let out a menacing growl and the person quickly slammed the door shut and ran off. I just passed out.
