Chapter 17

As I flew in the sky I watched as Shad in his demon form came from the beacon onto the mountain. He plunged his sword into the ground causing an earthquake below him and lava spewing from the planet's core onto the land burning the trees I was too far away from him so he couldn't see me.  He made his way toward Phoenix Drop with rage destroying everything in his path, as I flew toward the Phoenix alliance island. I made it to the island I saw people stare in fear looking at the dragon that flew above them. I made my way to the mountains where I fell upon the earth transformed into my shadow knight form and collapsed.
I woke up in a cabin my mask still covered my face. I tried to get up only to feel dizzy and a pain in my chest. I looked down and saw I was wrapped in bandages and there was a red mark appearing through the white my armor was off and I was in no more than bandages and shorts. 'Damn it' I said as I slowly got onto my feet feeling a sharp pain in my side. "God sit down woman!" Said a man who walked in the room.
"I'm fine it's just a flesh wound!"
"A flesh wound!? By god are you mad!? You got shot in the chest with an arrow lucky the wound isn't too deep!"
"I've had worse." I said looking outside.
"You've had worse!?"
"Why don't you try being a shadow knight for 5 years! Being forced to serve or else your family and friends would be slaughtered! Having to live 5 years away from those you love and not be able to see them! Having to kill innocent just because of the dark lord's blood lust! Once you understand that you will know the meaning of true pain!" I yelled and then calmed down cause I'm sure the people outside could hear me. "Now tell me how long have I been out!"
"Two days.."
"Thank god! Is everyone safe shad didn't get here did he!?"
"No he has not and yes the people are safe but we need to go back to the island the people are starting to get restless."
"I will go."
"Not like this you won't!"
"I'm the only one who can restore the island!"
"And your in no condition to do so!"
"You think I care! Seeing my friends and family safe and happy is all that matters to me!"
"You keep on talking about your family who are these people?"
"I...I-i can't tell you." I said looking at the man.
"Well you'll need to they must be worried sick-"
"They think I'm dead.."
"What?"
"Look at me! I am, was, a shadow Knight I died the very day of my own children's birth! I haven't seen them in years and when I did see them they didn't even know who I was... he didn't even know who I was... What do you think they'll think when they see me not to mention I was shads right hand officer next to Gene! They'll think I didn't want to see them, that I couldn't have cared less! All I have done is because I cared because if I didn't they would be dead!..." I started sobbing holding my face in my hands...
"Look lady I know things have been  tough but we all have dealt with messed up stuff for instance we all just saw a dragon-"
"That was me..."
"Um we all were just kicked off an island because shad was.."
"That was because of me..."
"Well damn... you are one messed up kid.."
"Ya think!?"
"Look all I'm trying to say is that we have all been through a lot one way or another so don't start moping around, because everyone already has too much stress to deal with that shit! Alright." He said and I wiped my tears.
"Alright."
"Good now there is a bathroom with a towel right there you should get yourself washed up, while your doing that there is a group of people outside this door who are driving me insane saying they need to see you... god I should have retired last year..." the man mumbled the last part as I walked to the bathroom and got undressed and turned on the water... It's been so long... I felt the water but to me it felt like nothing, it was not warm nor cold like it had not temperature.*sigh* I got myself washed up and threw on some clothes and wrapped my chest up with new bandages. I then sat on the bed and the doctor came back in.
"There is this man who really needs to see you... He claims that he knows you and that he has to talk to you. I tried to get him to leave but he won't budge and is just sitting at the main lobby and he's starting to piss me off. Do you want me to tell him to leave or.?" I shrugged since I wasn't paying to much attention as the doctor did seem to annoy me a bit. "I'll bring him over then.."
I laid down on the bed starring at the ceiling. My wolf ears and tail were now visible and they would would twitch. My ears pressed against my head as I heard the subtle cream of the door as it slowly opened. I sat up and looked towards the door.
"Long time no see..."
"Laurence..."
