(Khalil POV)
I yawn as I stretch my arms above my head and quickly open the oven door to take out the fresh scones. Quickly transferring them to a cooling rack before the bottoms burn. There's a loud groan and my heart stops as I whip around only to remember I had a strange man sleeping on my couch.
I was so used to being alone, it was strange to hear someone sharing the same space in my own flat. I take off my baking apron and walk over to the couch where he laid limp and vulnerable. I cautiously leaned over the arm of the chair, peering down to take a closer look at him.
There was a single bead of sweat glistening from his pale forehead and his jet black hair jutted out at all angles from an endless night of tossing and turning. He groans again, shifting his head to the right before opening his eyes just a little bit. They were the darkest gray I had ever seen with slight hints of turquoise blue.
Suddenly his eyes open wide and before I even knew what was happening, I was lifted in the air and slammed onto the white carpeted floor. My head slams against the floor so hard I thought I saw two of the strange man above me, his eyes glaring into mine as he held me down while I looked at him in shock.
Terrified as to what this stranger might do to me.
"Who...Who are you?" He gasps out in a ragged breath.
"I'm...K-Khalil," I stutter and he narrows his eyes further with a hand on my neck.
"Who...what do you..."
His eyes suddenly close and he loses all strength in his arms as he slumps on top of me.
"Umm...hello? Scary man?" I poke him several times but he was passed out. His head rising and falling with my chest.
I groan as I push him off me and he falls to the floor with a heavy thud.
I wince at the noise, hoping my downstairs neighbors don't hear the disturbing sounds and call the police or something. I try to wake him up with a gentle shove but he stays fast asleep.
Using all my strength, I grab him by his arms and lift him back to the couch, laying his waist up down first before swinging his heavy led legs to join him.
I go back to the kitchen and grab a small rag, sprinkling a bit of cold water from the sink to moisten it before going back to my stranger. Taking the rag and carefully wiping the sweat from his brow in gentle pats. He moans again and I hold my breath while pressing the cool rag to his skin, scared he'll awaken once more and push me to the ground again.
But instead he stays asleep, his face seems to relax. I draw small squiggles across his forehead with the cloth and his breathing calms down. I stop for a few seconds and gently push his crazy hair to the side before standing and snickering slightly at my stupid self. Rolling my eyes as I toss the rag behind me and grab a scone, biting into its warm goodness.
I couldn't help but stare at the stranger while rubbing my sore shoulder from hitting the ground.
Shit like this never happens to me so why now?
