(Aiden POV)
The screams and shouts of the Grayson family coming together after months spent apart fills the background and I excuse myself from the crowd.
Walking down to the very edge of the tall grass and sitting on the edge of the cliff. My legs dangle over the edge and I feel my home country's warm embrace as the setting sun cast its bright glow over the island. Hiding away from Taehyung and his large over welcoming family, I feel the hot tears filling the corners of my eyelids. The overwhelming happiness was too much from my depressed soul and I needed a moment to myself to regain my senses and to forget the pain.

The soft patter of feet wading through the grass starts to register and I'm quick to wipe the stupid tears.
"Sorry Tae I just needed..."
I look up to realize it wasn't Taehyung standing next to me but his father.
"Mind if I join you?" He asks and I quickly pushover, feeling embarrassed from crying in front of my father in Law but Pierce doesn't mention it. He only sits down next to me, the sea breeze naturally pushes back his dark brown hair with hints of gray and the sun glowing through his light gray eyes nearly identical to Taehyung's.
He sighs before turning to me with a small smile.
"Tae told me what happened and I'd like to say I'm sorry the mistakes of my past have affected your future," He says and I turn back to the ocean. Looking down at the palms of my hands and tracing the small lines.
"It's nothing really... I don't know the full story. I'm sure whatever you did to him was for a reason. I'm his only child so maybe he'll get over it one day. I just don't want him to miss out on his granddaughter's life, you know?" I sigh, trying not to tear up again at just the mention of it. Pierce places a loving hand on my shoulder.
"You're my son now Aiden. I know it's not the same as Mika, but I will be here for you too," he says and I nod, taking in his caring words.
"I guess I should explain what happened then since he never has," Pierce says and lets go of my shoulder while looking back to make sure no one else was coming.
