(Finley POV)
I sigh as I jog up the stairs to Lei's apartment. I wasn't feeling all that great and was stressed out from the upcoming finals week.
I did the work so I didn't know why I was stressing out so much to be honest but the constant studying was taking its toll on me. I almost told Lei to just forget about tonight because I needed to stay up to bang out another five page paper, but then what kind of boyfriend would I be?
Besides, I always love seeing him and could never say no to him.
I accidentally zone out and come to realize I had walked past his apartment down and kept walking down the hall.
Smelling something burning as I backtracked to his apartment door, knocking genlty.
"Lei? Are you..." He opens the door to a thick black smoke that lingered in the air and I can't help but burst out laughing as I enter the apartment.
"Were you trying to cook for me?" I ask as Lei closes the door behind me and he scratches the back of his head, embarrassed.
"No...okay yes but I clearly failed miserably."
I steal his chips as I lean back into his arms on the fire escape.
"You know I have the strong belief that Uber eats is the best thing that ever came to London." He laughs, I stretch out my legs and hungrily munch on a chicken nugget.
"They should change their slogan to Uber Eats, Saving shitty cooks since 2016." I say, dramatically waving my hand in the air. Lei buries his head in my shoulder to hide his embarrassment.
We were still waiting for all the smoke to clear out of the apartment.
"You're such an asshole, I was just trying to do something nice for you. I know your stressed out with finals and so I wanted to...nevermind." He growls and I swallow my food, taking a sip of water.
"I just want to be the best boyfriend I can be but It's a lot harder than I thought." he sighs and after gulping a few sips I put the bottle down before turning to him. His dark green eyes looking down followed by a disappointed frown. I sit on his lap and tilt his chin up.
"It was really sweet, thank you baby," I smiled as I kissed him.
"Wow, you...called me baby? That's a first," He laughs into our kiss and I break away.
"What do you mean?! I've said it before!" I defend myself as he wraps his arms around me.
"Not nearly enough, among other things." he says and I look at him confused.
"What are you talking about?" I ask curiously and he shakes his head.
"Nevermind, It's fine," he tries to kiss me again but I back away.
"No really what?" I ask and he gets all shy and embarrassed.
"Fin, I love you and I've been with you for four months now but you've never said it back. It's almost like you don't hear me." he says and looks up, I stretch my arms around his neck,
"I'm not a big...love guy," I admit and he looks down hurt.
"Oh, that's fine, like I said. I just..." I interrupt him.
"But I do know I love you," I tell him and he slowly meets my loving gaze.
"I love you Lei," I say it again and his smile was one I would never forget.
"I love you too," He says in the dark with only the lights of London below us, giving away the wide smile on his face.
"And you're already an amazing boyfriend just saying," I add kissing him as softly as I possibly can, soaking in every kiss and every moment I had him to myself.
